KK is the worst hand in poker

Ok I've come to the startling conclusion that KK is the worst hand in the world.

Today I got dealt KK 3 times in a session of 150ish hands. Now most to most people getting kings this many times in such a short span would be most fortuitous. I on the other hand don't believe such nonsense. All three times I got dealt KK someone else had AA. 3 for 3.
The first one I raised someone shoved all in, I thought about it and folded, the guy showed A,A.
The second one someone went all in in front of me, he had a small stack so I called, AA another loss.
The third one (I probably should have turned it off after the second one....) there was a riase in front of me, I reraised, perhaps to much cause I pot commited myself, the re-reraise put me all in, AA hits the board 1 buy in gone.

To rub salt in the would the two times it went to showdown an A hit the flop giving me no hope at all. On top of all this I can't count how many times I've had KK, made a raise and the flop showed an A. I have decideed from now on that I am playing KK for set value only

For the record, I know KK is a great hand, I have had the worst luck possible with it lately, oh well I'm going to the gym to hit a punching bag for the next 13 hours.

P.S. ONLINE POKER IS RIGGED

This is tournament/SnG, correct? They shove over a pre-flop raise and their range is AA? It'd be nearly impossible to fold this even to the tightest tourney player in the world, regardless of stack sizes. You may have been right this time, but I think folding here is incredibly weak and -EV against any online player

Cash game, I had played against this particular player alot over the last month, my notes on him were:

-very very very tight
-all in preflop AA or KK only
-check raises flops a lot

So I made the decision to fold, turned out to be right, normally this would be a call though.

I know what you mean about KK...seems like everytime I have it an ace hits on the flop ruining my good feeling. One of my favorite poker sayings is, "theres always an ace". The only strong hand I really fear seeing is QQ. I swear I can't catch a break with that starting hand.

I'm getting sick of idiots who have no concept on the maths, I expected more smarts considering the price of the tourney, I usually play in micro tourneys.

This happens to me a lot! And yes it is rigged. I had a very loose player raise yesterday 4x the BB, 1 caller, so I raise another 6x. 2 calls. A high flop, 2 pushes, I fold, showdown - AJs vs AKs.

But for all the losing or outdrawn hands, do you remember all the ones you win? Or the blinds you've taken down?

I had a session like what your describing on Wednesday. However to make up for it my session yesterday, I found a nice new friend who raises & pushes for max buyin with 10's preflop. I held KK and they held up !

KK is def not the worst hand in poker, just gotta know when to get away from it. i dont like pushin preflop with it that much cause any donk with A 3 might call.

And thats exactly what you want to happen. Your KK will hold up more times than it'll be beat statisically. You'll make more money in the long run than letting them draw to a hand.

You can't let beats affect the way you plpay your game. If, after honest self-evaluation, there was no other reasonable way to play a hand or session, chalk it up to bad luck. Even the best players can make the right play and still lose. If one needs an outlet for frustration, I suggest punching your palms, It works for me.

the last several times i've had KK i get blown away by the aces>... just keep you stack in mind when making or play on KK.. make sure your stacked enough to get back in the game!!!! always keep finding new ways to play the K's........even if you get constant bad beats there is always a bad beat for you to hand out! just keep playing!!!

KK is the 2nd best starting hand in hold'em but it is just that, a "starting hand" there are 5 more cards to come. I like to slow play kings more than push all in pre-flop and it makes the hand easier to get away from if an ACE should spoil your plans.

I think that JJ is the worst starting hand. It is almost always dominated, your only hope is to hit a set, or somehow suckout a str8.

I'm just the opposite! I lose more with AA than I do with 22. I never put in more than 10% of my stack with that hand. They are the devil!!!

I have a different opinion. I think a loseing hand is the worst hand in poker. I win with 2-2 all the way to A-A but I also lose the same. Its when you know that you got it won is when you lose it, And that to me is the worst hand in poker

Isn't it some kind of official poker rule that pocket kings MUST be followed by a flop with an ace EACH AND EVERY TIME ?

The worst part is knowing you are behind to someone who called a big bet with a crappy hand like A-7os.
