| Esfandiari saying 37 is phil laaks bet of 3700. Tom dwan saying 68 is 100 more than the pot at the time(6700). (raise large than pot... you can tell he is working it out in his head when he says "what did you say?") So esfandiari raises big thanks to tom dwan. thats my take. |

And Antonio is known to repeat (or inquire about) the bet size to the dealer often when he plays (watch High Stakes Poker, too). No matter who's around. And Dwan is just weird, so who knows about the "68". You actually think these guys would collude on national TV where it could be played and analyzed over & over and risk their reputations and everything they have? Not even Russ Hamilton is THAT stupid. |

| RoFl, nice analysis OP. ...btw, the only friends at the table are the ones involved in the betting [not saying they'd cheat], what motive would Tom Dwan have...and what information would he have to say its safe to raise? Last edited by D'wilius : 4th July 2009 at 6:04 PM. |

| Well they are all friends so it's even more reason they could be messing around with each other as far as colluding. It's very hard to be classified as cheating since their protection can be grounded behind answering a simple question that kenny asked. Kenny asks how many push ups do you think I can do in the middle of a hand like that when he folded 9-2, with 2 9's on the flop. My take is he was asking a legitimate question and esfandiari said 37 to be cheeky(phil laaks bet), and tom dwan being as sick as he is, worked out how much was in the pot and played the game. Challenging to do when you weren't paying attention before. Hence "What did you say?"(for more time to calculate what is in the pot) It's also weird how esfandiari decided to show durrrr his cards after the hand, as if to say "thanks for the cheeky help bro, here is what i had". i like to keep an open mind about it for fun Last edited by boomboom : 4th July 2009 at 7:49 PM. | "I've been up for 2 and a half days, how many pushups blah blah" Well the flop is 9 - 5 - 9: Most people call a day 9 to 5, right? Kenny is definitely in on it, thanks to to his hand pre flop. It's just friends colluding each other. Abit of fun. |

| re: kenny tran/tom dwan/esfandiari sick collusion poker Stupid thread. Srsly. The convo has nothing to do with the hand. Tran is asking Dwan 'Durrr, I'll do 15 pushups for $500, how many do you think I can do?' He is issuing a side-bet challenge here for Dwan. Antonio, who is in the middle of this convo (literally), most likely overhears Tran and blurts out '37' Why? Who knows. Maybe its because its the size of the bet by Laak, maybe it's just the first number that popped up. Reguardless...Antonio isn't in the convo. Tran is talking with Dwan. Now Dwan, who is a bit confused by Tran's engrish ask 'What did you say?' To which Tran replies 'I've been up 2 and half days, how many push-ups do you think I can do?' Dwan just gives of a random number of '68'. If you listen closely, Tran says 'I can't even do 30 right now.' Why? Because he has been up for 2 days and he is probably very fatigued. If Tran is side-betting Dwan on how many push-ups he can do for $500 and 2 days of no rest, Dwan is gonna say some unlikely number Tran mostly can't do. There is no coded, secret collusion dialog going. It's typical HSP side chat while a hand is going on. To think otherwise is just simply retarded. What are going to do when Tran folds K2 and the flop is K 2 K while Atonio is still in a hand? Tell Dwan if he joins the KKK he'll get a free boat? It doesn't make sense, just like your over-analysis of this video. ...Crap. Now i just over-analyized OP's post. |

| Well I find it very hard to dismiss it so easily like the rest of you. I mean a lot of great poker players use the numbers in front of them for psychological fun and game play. In this case, you can't even imagine a slight possibility that it is "friendship collusion"? I can't be so sure like you guys. the 37(3700) and 68(6700)(raise larger than pot) is too great a coincidence. Start with the basics, like David Peat on High Stakes Poker saying "Quack Quack" for a $2,200 bet. The 2's look like a duck. They do play at that level. |

| Yeah man, do you play much poker? How is it even possible to raise to 6800 on a 3700 bet. LOL you said raise (3100) Look man, the number 68 basically means raise big. And he did, to 13,900. It's not just a bloody random number! tom dwan is intuitive to the point where it is almost certain that number relates to the pot, because of antonios answer of 37 when he wasnt even asked the question. The raise was also to 13,900. Which is a poke at 3 9's. (3,9) They are friends man, it's not about the high stakes this hand. It's about the game. Over analyzing this hand means trying to work out if kenny tran is apart of it or not. |
