| It's not too bad. You haven't been playing long at Stars if that was bad. And, you can't blame 'em for not folding trips with a possible straight out there. People can't fold K's and A's most of the time. Just be glad it was only a free roll. I was on Stars last night playing micro pot limit. People bet with "nothing" from flop straight through, only to out me with a flush on the river. Happened twice in fifteen minutes. It's sick over there sometimes. Nothing you can do though I guess but to move up in limits or buyins I suppose. Last edited by wsorbust : 11th September 2007 at 10:11 PM. |

Not that it is a great call in the first place, but "starting hands" would be applicable here. |

| I just KNOW i'm going to be blasted for this... but he DID flop his set... he *did* make his hand... from his perspective, maybe it was a little short-sighted not to see the potential straight in play there, but I know I've played my sets stubbornly a time or two and had them pay off more times than not. |

| My 2 cents: The limping with 98o isn't so bad when you consider the antes make this a bigger pot although raising would have been better as you had position. Due to the pot size + position you could argue that folding here is worse than limping - discuss!! Post flop you were unlucky although this is a minor bad beat in reality...its not exactly a runner-runner. I once got dumped out of a tournament to a guy who who needed to hit queens on both turn and river and did. These things happen, you'll bounce back no worries |

Too much emotional content. It`s only a card game. At the turn, you were roughly 80/20 favourite. The river card is going to beat you around one time in five. It`s disappointing when that happens, but you need to shrug it off and move on to the next game. Tilt is -EV. |

People who limp consistently with AA are the people who come here moaning about how they never win with it. |

| re: this is just unbelievably disgusting poker welcome to the wonderful world of online poker, where AMAZING suckouts occur with alarming regularity...you did not do anything wrong, caution should have guided the other guy, but there is always the slim possibility that the board will pair and your str8 may get trumped...i would imagine that if you have been playing for any amount of time you have been on the receiving end of one or two suckouts, and that when it flows the other way it is, of course, evidence that the universe really is a warm and fuzzy place where RIGHTNESS prevails |

| well I limped in because of the pot odds but I always over value that....it wasnt sick or disgusting I was just venting because it was so close to the money....if i was in the final 500 I would not have been as mad because i didnt sit there for 3.5 hours... i didnt intend to say that i am an unlucky person who always gets beat, I was just venting and I am not sure why i even posted this here in the first place.... whatever GL at the tables everyone |

Why do you refuse to spell out "you"? It's odd that you would correctly spell most of the words in your errant post but be frightened by the ignominious "YOU". So you instead chose to use "u", "ur" and "ull". I am almost speechless. Almost. My spellcheck just imploded on "ull". |

I said ALMOST ALWAYS.....but would I raise with aces....yes most likely I would.....I'd prefer to grab a pot preflop, than lose like this guy did ANYDAY......I came to find this post because I had a feeling that the sig had to do with this post. Aces you almost always do what?? Win a little or lose alot, a 3x BB raise shouldn't scare off AK or KK. Heck even if you raise you'll occasionally get the guy with 23suited to call....and end up losing..... Last edited by Wonka22 : 13th September 2007 at 2:59 PM.
