| Is it just me, or do people talk more trash in the lower limit/buy ins?? So Ive noticed something when it comes to 10cent buy ins compaired to the $5+ buy in, when someone gets knocked out or comes to observe the table, they talk ALOT more trash then they do in the $5+ buy ins. I mean, they cry and complain when they get knocked out, they talk about how bad the person is, how he hopes he gets knocked out...yadda yadda ... you know the people im talking about. So is this just me, or is this a common theme when it comes to this. that the higher the buy in the less bad mouthing and trash talking and the lower the buy in = more bad mouthing |

| I agree with you, seems the lower buyins players have bigger mouths. That's not to say ALL of them and that's not to say there aren't people like that in the higher buyins. I just tend to ignore them, it doesn't make them stop but it won't hurt my game either (as I think it would if I got into a b*****ng match with them). What I find funny is they're usually the ones that are out first |

| I have noticed this too. I think it is because they have no idea what they are talking about. They think not catching an Ace when they call for all thier chips is a bad beat. They think loosing to a kicker is a bad beat. Whether the are ignorant or just young they are definitely louder at low level buy ins. |

| re: Is it just me, or do people talk more trash in the lower limit/buy ins?? poker You gotta love it when someone call your all in with 7 2 off and you turn up your pocket rockets and he proceeds to calls you a donk as well all kind of other flattering names and tells you you don't know how to play poker and how much he likes your mother. Then he ends catching trip 2's and he tells you to go somewhere and how great of a player he is. (maybe I've been playing too many freerolls) Gotta love online poker. Does it make you feel better to berate someone for a bad play? Do you gain anything from it? Do you think other players think you are cool or just the world's greatest poker player when you are doing it? If you had AA and he had KK but caught a K on the flop would you still belittle him for his call? What is your goal when you open your mouth at the table? |

edit, that should be edited in at the beggining of rounders in stead of the "spotting the fish at the table thing" or sometime in the movie |

That's because there are so many bad players taking shots. In general it does seem that the better players talk a lot less trash. The higher the levels, the more players are better. Sure you get the occasional Hellmuth at the higher limits, but mostly if you're good enough to win at those limits, you're good enough to realize where you're money's coming from. Also, the lower limits a lot more of the time is a person's entire bankroll. They'll not worry about BRM and expect to win, and they need to blame someone for their loss, so they blame "the donks". Similar to the Sunday Million, probably a lot of players taking shots, can't really afford bankroll-wise to not cash, and get pissed when they lose to a suckout. |

"Does it make you feel better to berate someone for a bad play? Do you gain anything from it? What is your goal when you open your mouth at the table?" I know your post wasn't responding to me but I'll answer your questions. No it doesn't make me feel better, but I enjoy letting someone know that I am better than them and there isn't anything they can do about it. Yes, I do gain something from it. Usually when you go after a guy with a little chit chat that puts you on his radar. He wants a piece of you, and is more likely to make a bad call or bad play to try and take some of your $ or stack. My goal? I think I just explained that. I'm a good enough player to where I want action. If I have to talk, berate, or criticize someone when I believe it will help give me even more of an edge then yes I am going to do it. |

Even better, if this is really your goal, why don't you berate the players who make good plays, and pretend they're bad? That way you gain an edge from other players maybe semi-tilting, but mostly thinking you're a donk so will give you more action. |

I don't assume everyone I try to talk to has been affected by my babble. If I try to chat with a particular individual and they aren't giving me the time of day I just go back to playing. Some will chat, some won't. Me on tilt? Maybe my freshman year of college when I was skipping classes to play poker, but that was a long time ago. Do I steam? OF COURSE we all do, but I don't allow myself to go on tilt anymore. If I feel that coming I just sit out. |
