Theres often alot of negative talk when it comes to poker and sometimes we just forget what makes us love it. Maybe its something you really enjoy or maybe you just pulled an insane move and need to brag.

Whatever it is share, and we can remember why we love it so much.

For me its the pitting of your wits against others and outplaying them.
I also love trapping people and the big 'bluff', where it looks like your moving with air and you got the nuts. People's reactions are priceless, when they realise their beat.

It depends on the situation. If your winning you'll obviously feel the joy. But try telling yourself that when you hit a rough patch. There isn't a feeling worse than being on tilt.

For me, it's playing "in the zone." Knowing that I'm exercising discipline and patience, and recognizing bluff points and having a confident read on at least a couple players. It's taking a bad beat in stride - even being thankful for it. It's playing in control. Such play leads to winning, which I also like.

I'm a Buddhist and poker is a great exercise in living the Dharma.

People that consider poker gambling and despise gambling tend to despise poker. But for the rest of us people there are various reasons as to why we like poker. The two main reasons are winning and making money of course. But for others it is to make sick plays, sick lay downs even though they are right, and even play with well known players and pros. There are countless of other reasons why people play poker. There are countless of reasons why I play poker. But the main thing I like to do is have fun.

I think that you are right about your assumption of poker, but give do's to the poker haters as well they need love too. I think poker is a great game, very frustrating at times but i keep comming back for more. Hey what can i say addictive like crack i tell you watch out!
