| JJ....??? Ok so really appreciating any advice i receive on this one. JJ is it really even a hand worth playing? i mean truth be told it is the 4 -5 best hand in poker but still, they just never ever ever ever seem to fly through for me. I was really wondering if anybody else came across this problem while they play poker. I mean when i get dealt JJ i usually raise about 3 - 4 BB so as to only get a caller or two, and every every every single flop contains an Q K or A in it!!. im not kidding when i say every time. Yesterday i was in a tourney with JJ, flop came out to be 2 8 10..i pushed all in ( i had average stack) the other guy calls, shows his AK and catches both an A and K on the turn and river. so tell me, is it really even worth the bother of playing JJ?- |

| JJ is a tough hand to play. The really hard part for me (and I'm sure others) is that it is a pair! Most time I do what you described raise 3-4 times the BB and try to eliminate the A-2's etc. More importantly is the post flop, if they are small cards I push just like you did. Remember you would have lost with pocket Q's as well. If the board shows Q-K-A's in some fashion I will play the hand differently each time. If I'm in early position, small bet to see where I am, later position watch to see what the other players will do. If I know I am playing with a loose field, I may stay in (if it's cheap enough) to see another card, you never know. If I have tight players and they are betting, I will probably throw them away. Sometimes the hardest thing to do in poker is throw them away when you know you're beat. (My apologies to Jen Harmon) |

| re: JJ....??? poker Thanks for the advice fellas Rk64..i wish i could get some bada$$ flops like that when i play, 4 of a kind lol wow man. Anyways thanks to Leo too. all good advice. Like leo said it does depend on my position cuz i do what you said where if your in early position i bet out to see where my hand potentially stands even though its hard to tell. if im late position and somebody leads out at the pot usually i come in for a re raise. |

I mean when i get dealt JJ i usually raise about 3 - 4 BB so as to only get a caller or two, and every every every single flop contains an Q K or A in it!!. im not kidding when i say every time. at the short run maybe you was unlucky to get flops with Q, K or A, but at the long run JJ is worthy hand and you will be many times ahead. like you was at the example below. Yesterday i was in a tourney with JJ, flop came out to be 2 8 10..i pushed all in ( i had average stack) the other guy calls, shows his AK and catches both an A and K on the turn and river. so tell me, is it really even worth the bother of playing JJ? yes it worth playing it, and you made the right move after the flop, you just got unlucky but most of the time in this situation you will win, the precentage at the situation you described are 75% you win and only 25% to the AK, so he was just lucky and get into the 25% and caught K/A. good luck next time |

| I only push all in pf with JJ if I'm less than 10BB. Otherwise I raise 3.5 - 4 BB and see how the flop comes. I usually c-bet with them and if i get a hefty raise with overcards on the board I get out of the way. They are definitely worth playing and every once in a while they pay off big. |

| re: JJ....??? poker I rarely shove at all with JJ even when Ive got less than 10x BB. Just a decent raise with the jacks and anytime I get 2 overs Im outa there. I do agree with the rest of the guys though, in the end JJ is a good hand to play. |

If you have less than 10 BB you should be shoving with 10 10 or higher. I mean, with 10 BB or less what are you waiting for. It's time to make a move. Lots of times when you shove with 10 BB you'll take the blinds and the antes. If you get a caller most of the times it's a flip against two overs, I'll take that race. Other wise you'll see a couple of flops and nip away at your already tiny stack. Then you are really going to have to open up your range and shove with any Ace or any pp. As far as JJ goes, it's a though hand to play. I suggest playing them like a middle pp. |

| Looks like the consensus is in JJ is way playable!!! You played it exactly right post flop too. Those kinds of things happen, especially when some people out there can;t let go of AK no matter what comes on the board or what the bet it is. More often than not, teh play you make will hold up!!! Keep up the good work!!!! |
