Jazzed tonight! Live 4/8 game, did well

I've been playing live tournaments pretty regularly, but up until tonight hadn't ventured into the 4/8 limit games they get together after people start busting out of the tourney. 2/4 is the highest I've previously played, but 4/8 is what's typically offered here. Honestly, I was a little afraid of putting that much money in a single pot, heh.

Tonight I decided in advance to give it a shot, so made sure I had enough cash to buy in (good thing, too, as I went out of the tournament on the bubble so no extra cash there).

I bought in for $100, played for an hour and a half, and left with $190. I'm psyched, and no longer afraid of 4/8 games!

Thats it...just look at it as chips while you're playing. Count your winnings in dollars after you're on your way home.

Wow. That's usually what I buy in with for 2/4. Sat with $150 when I played 3/6 in Vegas (which is the cheapest it is Vegas). Glad you were up for the night.

I guess it depends on the location what a typical buy-in is. Only one person at my table last night bought in for more than $100, so I was kind of "going with the flow." I remember buying into a 2/4 game at the Orleans last year for $100 and feeling like I probably bought too many chips because I had more than anyone else....
