Its weird but it helps!

Figured I would help out some single table players if any1 is interested!
Sry Multitablers you can try it but probably wont work!

Ok heres how it goes.

When the game begins click and make it fullscreen

Then click on the tournament info(Top left of screen)
and hover it over where your cards show.

Wait to click and drag the info box back and forth when your turn comes around!

This helps me play better cause I pay attention more to the game and how I should play cards from certain positions and where and why some players are betting by always knowing the blinds, chips averages, when the blinds will increase etc.

Also it helps hide online tells by givin you a few seconds to decide how to play your cards instead of insta-raising or flat-calling with a hand!

I don't think that by knowing the average stack size will increase your play.
If you're playing a MTT (Turbo or super-turbo) then the average stack size will increase very fast, and you won't know whether to play according to your stack size comparred to others, or you stack size comparred to the blind levels.
It does sound like an interesting idea, no doubt about that!
But for me, personally, I would prefer to play according to my stack size comparred to the blind level.

SINGLE TABLE PLAY not MTT.

I just tried this for awhile and I understand the positives you mention, but I think not knowing what I have hurts planning how I'm going to play the hand as I gather info with players actions in front of me.

the important thing is it works for you so go for it. i play anywhere from 2-4 tables so it wouldn't work for me.

and yea you can try with maybe 4 tables up if you want a headache its just 2 much clicking and draggin LOL

This isnt about playing according to to our stack size or the blinds. The only thing this is doing is preventing you from looking at your cards Allowing you to pay more attention to the action at the table instead of your cards until your turn comes around

so your saying it helps you concentrate beacause you cant see your cards ?

I have it always open but I put it on a side of the open window where it isn't hiding any important thing.
It is helpful, but not a wonder tool...

Having some info of chip leader and your position is not sooo amazing.

You don't play multiple tables in an MTT, just one at a time...

Would be interesting if someone played like 10 sng's with this strategy and then another 10 at the same stakes and play without it and see if there are any significant results

The whole purpose of exercises like this is to reinforce the importance of position and the action before you. It's nothing new and has been promoted before. As mentioned, Annette O won a 180-player (IIRC) MTT being blind to her hole cards for all but one hand. Arnold Snyder in his Poker Tournament Formula Vol I suggests you use a post-it note to cover your cards for a tourney or two, to drive home his rock-paper-scissors approach to tournament strategy (position being scissors).

None of them are suggesting you should play this way regularly. It's an exercise. And it's pretty darn effective if you've never done it before. Even if you "know" that position is important, it can be difficult to isolate position from other playing factors in such a way as to fully appreciate it.

Essentially, Snyder's approach is this (I'm going from memory so maybe not exactly right, and hopefully I don't run afoul of copyright, lol):

• cover your hole cards
• from UTG through MP2 (or the seat before hijack), fold everything preflop
• if folded to you in the hijack, open with a standard raise, otherwise fold.
• if folded or limped to you in the cutoff, open raise, otherwise fold.
• if folded or limped to you on the button, SB, or BB, open with a standard raise. If you're facing a single standard raise on the button, call. Otherwise fold. (I'm not positive on the blind action here but I think that's right, I don't have the book in front of me).
• I don't recall his exact strategy once short-stacked, but I would assume it's a standard open-shove once you reach 8-10bb.
• You will find that much of the time, just aggressing from position is enough to take down the pot preflop.
• If you get to a flop in position (nobody behind you), cbet every street that is check/called to you, all the way to showdown. If facing a bet or raise, fold.
• See how deep you can go.

Obviously it can be a bit uncomfortable to try this. Everyone's a bit embarrassed to get to showdown after betting every street with 72o, lol. But it really can be an eye-opening experience on just how much influence position alone has over your results. Obviously if you try this in a public freeroll or at the micro's, there will probably be enough fish and calling stations to call you down all the way, but generally if you'll set aside a 5 or 10 buck buy-in for this experiment, it will almost certainly be enlightening. It was for me, and I understood the value of position beforehand. This little experiment just demonstrates it in a dramatic fashion.

I'd personally rather see my holecards & then start the thought process & calulating.. ie. if so & so raises.. on a such & such stack... do I have room to 3bet light (< etc. etc. etc.).

dmorris, that's pretty cool, I'm going to have to give it a try. do you think it also forces you to get a better read on the table and play off that as well, or is this strictly a positional thing?
