Superstar showdown is on right now. Isildur1 taking on his first opponent Isaac "philivey2694" Haxton.

They are playing 50$/100$ nl Hold'em on Pokerstars. You can find the tables under Hold'em - No limit/Pot Limit - High and they are called Showdown.

The Format

A SuperStar Showdown is a high stakes, heads-up match consisting of a single session of 2,500 hands. The match is played across four tables of No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha, at stakes no lower than $50/$100. The winner is the player that shows either a profit after 2,500 hands, or wins all of their opponent’s match bankroll.

One interesting fact is that apparently a mod will tell every few hands how many hands they played and who is leading so far and by how much.

half way, Isildur1 leads by about 25k.

On the begining it was boring, now they are just gamblig

what was the final score ? and who won...? i had to go about 3/4ths of the way through...and i noticed that phil had a pretty large lead on isildur on table 3, but im not sure what the over all score was on. Just logged into to pokerstars to seee who was leading, but neither player was on so i am unsure of who won the matchup lol

Was quite swingy. Isi had over 30k in profit at one point but in the end Issac won by around 60k I think.

I think they should pump up the stakes for the next one, good session for ike tho

Kind of off the subject but Im surprsised that Isaac Haxton's screen name is "philivey2694". Being that obviously Phil is a FT Pro you would think that PS wouldnt want that.

It was probably his SN a while before he became big, i see loads of phil ivey based Screen names all over stars

2.5k hands is just a ridiculous sample...isil ran pretty bad, he lost almost every AIPF...
and i agree they should raise the stakes next time.

no doubt haxton will be back for round two. I reckon after about 8k hands isildur1 will figure him out and sould crush him.

Ike's made over 220k on PS. And over 1 Million on FT. I wouldnt say he's exactly a push over. Just like Durrr having trouble with Jungleman right now. Just because youre not a household name doesnt mean you cant play.

isildur is a holdem genius, which is why none of the pros would play him so he had to switch to omaha....with a bigger sample, isildur destroys him

ike is one of the best HU NLHE players alive

im well aware of his credentials. But the fact remains that durrrr was considered the best or top 2 or 3 and won to start with against isildur1 aswell. Then got owned once isildur1 figured him out. Isildur1 got some skills too. Just not game selection skills.

will be interesting to watch though.

Ike- has to play omaha and holdem, plus give isiluder more hands and he will crush him...look at what he has said since after the match

Durr- Ya he did and lost bad....

Jungleman- Just bc he's playing in the durrr challenge, doesnt mean he can handle isildur...the pro's were getting recked by him so they wouldnt play him in nlhe, they would only give action in omaha

Ivey, Ike, Durrrr, Jungleman, PA, Galfond, etc...have played him in the past at NLHE, and they happily will do that again...

Ivey - Would play him.
Ike - Would play him at lower stakes (50/100 max)
Durrrr - Would play him everytime...everytime this year when isildur1 tried to rebuilt is BR at FTP and take a shot at nosebleeds durrrr was there to play him...
Jungleman - He's down only 300k for isil i guess...he would play him anytime just for the challenge.
Patrick A - Don't know if he would play him at NLHE (like he did in the past) but definetly would give him action at PLO.
Galfond - Galfond is up a lot at isildur1...he will definetly play him in every game

becasue when making his name he would have tried 1, 2, 3,... 2692 and then finally got 2694....
