ISbluffing - introduction/progress/guess my fate thread

I have been lurking here for sometime now, I decided that I would join your community which I have admired for a long time.

I am going to post my progress in this thread starting with what I have in my account now, and win or lose I will post it here.

I am a tight/aggressive player - Played on PartyPoker for 1.5 years, and have cashed in a few live tourneys in Vegas where I used to reside. My mom was actually a shill for Golden Nugget in around 1993, so Poker has always been around.

Goal = $50 to $1000 in a month

Starting with $50.00 I placed in this tournament the night before last:



Which put me at right around $200

I cashed my 50.00(I'm not rich and it made me feel better) and played in a small cash game, losing a few bucks - SO - my journey starts here:



I will be editing this page frequently, updating with each win/loss I endure.

My goal is to work up to 1k playing strictly multi tournaments. Of course a big win can do this, but I'm sticking to low buy games.

mtt, no. too much variance, i dont see a 1k+ cash coming from $1 mtt's in one month. (all your BR can afford are the cheap mtt's)

jump into 10max nlhe, grind to $400 and see what you can do with the medium-low stakes mtts.

I agree with this, if you were on pokerstars it would be different because those low limit tourneys pay out a lot more for final tables because of the larger fields but on full tilt just wont happen.

Well, just to clarify - I am going to be playing in a few 10+1 as they come so the pools are relatively decent. I know when not to run, I look for a decent pool. Please poll for me! It makes me feel like I can do it! =)

I'll be playing in the FT midnight madness tourney as ISbluffing tonight at 12 midnight.

Actually my br won't hold for many 10+1 - can you tell me what nlhe would be? Any help is really appreciated, I play NL best, but I can play a decent limit game also. I'm a grind stalker, I'm always on it.

dude, i think thats a tough hill to climb but i think it can be done. i think you should play the 4$ SnG, bank the 26$ tokens and play in the guarntee tourneys. handle your buisness and good cards. maybe ill see ya at midnight madness

What are BR games? I'm not new to poker but I'm new to all the abbreviations. I still don't know what nlhe means. lol sorry

bankroll. $272 means you play cash games with 20 or more buyins (10max) or 2% of your bankroll into a mtt ($5.50 is close enough)

BR = bankroll
NLHE = no limit hold em

Proper BR games means games that will allow you some room to maneuver within your BR (ie: You have a $200 BR, you should play $10max and $1-5 SNGs/MTTs, not $15 SNGs etc)

In my experience best way to have a very fast increase in BR is to minimum buy at higher stakes.

Ive done 100 to 1000 in a month like three times already like that.

Two of those three i managed to donk it all away later, but still, if i had kept my focus after it, id have done great with it. Hitting the 1000 made me loosen up way 2 much though.

I will slow it down now - I believe this is technically the 2nd day of my goal but I will make sure - It started when I posted here first.

its just a very very general question. by using the search function you can see how multiple people play low limits and find a medium ground that you enjoy. I know when I watch my cardrunners videos I never play like anyone else does but I take bits and pieces from all the pros and get my own style.
