I'm playing horribly right now... My brain's short circuiting like crazy, even in forums. I'm sure it's because I'm pressuring myself when I've never pressured myself with tournaments before. Just ring games when I knew my "br" couldn't withstand a whole lot of beats. How do I get rid of the pressure and replace it with focus? It's just a shame I'm pressuring myself so much over a potential $2 -$15 It's nuts, absolutely nuts.

i think everyone has been where you are so dont worry. The best thing you can do is, just stick to ring games that you are bankrolled for that way losing a buying shoulnt matter much and put you on tilt. its a bit hard to help when we dont know your BR, but yeah stick to low limits and slowly try and beat each limit and work your way up. Ive personally given up on holdem...maybe its not the game for you? There are plenty of other games like Razz, 2-7 extra which are easier to win at and are limit games which may actually be a good idea for someone in your situation. Just work on your game and TRY yes TRY not to go on tilt....I know its very hard but thats what kills your BR. Good luck.

I did get out of the $1 SNG's. It only cost $10/$15 to learn a few valuable lessons about FTP, including to always click the buttons even if it looks like a tournament you can't afford(Take 2), and to play the 50pt satellites when I wanna play in the Daily Dollar. Beyond that there was an expensive reminder about staying too long at soft tables. Will I never learn?

FOUND IT!!! The thing that takes the pressure off is using Sharkscope to see that someone who rubs me the wrong way is down by a lot more than I've ever been down, and a lot more than I've ever been up. No matter what happens I'm not even in the red. I got a second chance at redemption and to learn my lesson about staying too long at soft tables. There's just the right amount of time to stay and then there's too long. I can never win when I'm banging my head against the wall. Banging my head to a little Paul Gilbert or Michael Angelo Batio sure, but against the wall? Nope.

re: I'm playing horribly right now... poker One thing that I've noticed that will clear my head and get me back to my A game, is taking a break. Just spend a day or two, maybe a week, away from the tables. Still work on your game. Go over some hands, read a book, post/read CC, but stay away from the tables. I always come back fresh and ready to go.
