| I'm going to try something There's a lot of people trying the 0 to whatever challenges. But I've been following TonyB1965 and his challenge has motivated me. But I'm not going to wait a full year like him. What I'm going to do is play only freerolls and whatever I cash I'll put to the side. I'll keep doing that till I reach $50. A normal deposit for most people. Then once I hit the $50 I'll use proper BRM and see how much I can really make. I will post my results weekly here on Cardschat (in this post) and see where it takes me. It might take me a year to hit $100, maybe 2. lol But It's FREE doesn't hurt anything to try and If I can do it..I'll be really happy with that accomplishment. So the summary... - Wont start cash games of any kind till I hit the $50 - I will be running this on FT. All freerolls on FT count. I know It's not a lot, but I'm not going to go for the $10,000...not many people do it and I'm just going to keep it simple...for now. My plan is to hit this $50 then make something out of that. I'm also working on my self control, If I can have..say...$20 in my account...I know I'll want to play it...I need to control myself and let it ride and build. Hope everyone follows along. My FT Name is Bloves and I'm starting tonight! Cheers! |

| What is the point of waiting until you have $50? Why don't you just play once you have a max buy in for the lowest ring game? Continue playing the freerolls, but if you make some money in the ring game, you won't have to wait so long to get started. |

Read the whole post. Hes trying to obtain a big enough roll to use Proper BRM. If he uses small winnings he putting a way to big of a % of his roll to play in those ring games if not all of it. If he builds to fifty that is a normal amount to grind in the micro limits. That my friend is proper BRM. PLUS HES WORKING ON IMPROVING HIS TEMPTATIONS AND PATIENCE. Good for you Brian |

Really? Ok Iam lost on the whole point of the forum now.....Ive learned this advice is the worst in the long run since i got here. Someone correct me if iam wrong. Iam sure theres dozens of threads about what to do with small bankrolls and alot of the responses from loyalers is stick to freerolls to build a roll. Ill keep bumping this to see if maybe iam just drinking to much |

Think this is my point. Hes obviously trying to avoid this by repeatedly saying hes gonna make it to fifty. Not just twenty when hed be risking it like usual. I think hes trying to improve diff. parts of his game. |

| The main point is TEMPTATION. I figure If I can grind the roll out to $50 using just freerolls then thats a good start for me. Most people cash a couple bucks in freerolls, use it for a tourney or small sng...lose it then play a freeroll again. (I'm one of those people too) But why not keep it? Build off of it. That's what I want to do. I could make a deposit and play, thats not the issue. I just want to earn it and really grind it out. It will help me in so many ways. Bottom line, most people know how to play poker..but the main key is PROPER brm. I really need work on that and this is just the first step..and for me...its a big step. Thanks to everyone thats supporting me. Cheers! |

| Good luck with that Brian! Great job just winning at the freerolls. I've always had a real difficult time going through 2700 in the freerolls. Usually I lose patience or I have other things that I need to get done so I can't stick around. You're in Lake Perris? We passed by there last week on one of Lizzy's excellent adventures. |

| re: I'm going to try something poker I think Brian and PC69 are both are the right scorecard. Now ... why ?? Oh yeah, it's easy to win a few sheckles in a FR and run off to the tables with your pants on fire, just to lose it all and return to the freerolls ... once again. Same 'easy' for those who deposit $50, run off to the $1/$2 NLHE tables to make their huge fortune, and return quickly to the cashier to reload. If being a failure time after time, after time, after time is your bag, let no one stand in your way. The rest of us love your money ... If you want something that is basically fool-proof and failure resistant, follow Brian's trek and PC69's thinking ... you'll never reload again ... I started the same thinking earlier this year, but with a twist. I started FT and Stars with -0- on both and have NEVER made a deposit on ANY poker site (never will either). I got tired of the yo-yo BR over the prior 2 years. I prefer playing on Stars, so my real BR under BR management guidelines is on Stars. I also have a small (accumulated) BR on FT that I apply 'modified' BRM to and use for my CC games and 'questionable' BR management entries, but I get to play the CC games that are fun for me. I still only use a portion of that FullTilt BR and didn't start until I had over $50 'saved up'. On Stars I now have a withdrawable balance. I applied what Brian wants to do, accumulated a BR from freerolls, stayed away from big buy-ins and ring games until I had over $60. Now I can play the ring games I want to within good BRM, leaving a majority as winning sessions, and can even join a few CC Invasion games (for $2.20 plus the $1 LPS added) anytime I want, without EVER getting hurt. Patience, Brian. It pays off handsomly. Keep those meager sheckles from burning a hole in your pocket and you'll find that playing with a nice cushion (i.e., BR) behind you is a great feeling. GL on your trek Brian. PC ... it's a good plan. It's worked well for me so far. ... |

| gl..... but keep in mind that tournament play and cash games are two very different games...and then theres sngs... low buy in mtts may be your starting point ...and for those i would play pokerstars - full tilt tournies only pay 10% - pokerstars pay 15-20% - ps has 25 and 50 cent buy ins with no rake and 20% payout - they also have 10 and 25 cent sngs with no rake - i'd go with full tilt for micro cash games .... so take your 50 when you get it and swap with someone and play tournies at pokerstars....cash games are a grind |

| yup gotta agree 100% with WEC on this one there are so many other alternatives to makin the cash besides playin the freerolls are beating millions upon millions of people. i hate the freerolls the most on FT because you could play for 6 hours, make the top 50 and it only pays out the top 27. pretty sucky for the amount of time you put into the sob. |
