I will start folding KK preflop.

Last two weeks on PS, no matter what limit in ring, or tourney EVERY time I have been holding KK I have encountered AA. This is absolutely rediculous and I am sick of losing money because of it. The only way to win with KK is by hitting trips.

Paul Wasicka sent me an email when I sent him one with some cash game tips... one of those was to not lose a lot of money with KK in cash game. It is a very dangerous hand in the likes of cash game.

If you have KK and an ace falls on the board, I would stop betting and let the opponent do the betting.

You need to lead out the betting to get an idea of where you stand.

If you check, your opponent is likely to bet. Do you then fold???

I net more with KK than AA in LHE.
A set of kings in LHE is better than sex.

I didn't exactly mean it like that, I meant. Here lets put it this way:

You have KK
Board: A95

You: Bet out the pot
Him: Calls

Turn: 3

You: Check
Him: Bets
You: Call

River: Q

You: Check
Him: Check / Bets
You: Call if he Bets

I am definitely not putting it the right way that I am thinking, but the point I am trying to get out is don't risk all your money on it / to much money on it.

why would you fold KK

with so many people playing any 2 cards strategy bet double the pot that way if they call they might have an ACE in their hand and if they go all in they might have the any 2 card theory trying to suck out on the board its best to play the strongest hand before the flop if its affordable to your chip stack....

if you go in the yard and the dog bites you , then dont go in the yard anymore , lol , its those freakin random number generators , thats why people think its rigged , i doubt you would encounter that to often in a live game. but you got to go down fighting , in a tourney i will try to get in the most money possible and a ring game i would get a good chunk in . ive had aces cracked more than kings. the worst mistake is not betting enough pre flop and getting beat by ace rag.

blah blah blah...my opinion here is u all r wrong and u dont remember when u won with KK which i know ev1 one of u did and only remember the bad beats obviously. basically if ur playing a cash game then u make a strong raise pre flop. u have to make a good read and know yr opponent if u know that he likes to play shit like A5 or w/e than when A comes thats when u have to fold. but if ace doesnt come i would just shove all in. all u wanna do is a get a good read on the other player and then play yr hand depending on that person. all of those books out there r bull shit. raise this much..bet this much on the flop ( dont u think the person who wrote it knows what ur doing since he/she remembers what he/she told u to do) its all bull shit. and i do everything against those stupid books and i still win.

I just find it odd when I raise and get re-raised and push all in to find some1 always holding AA whenever I have KK.. its sick. I wasn't even talking about them really flopping an ace but they usually will.

i think you have to count the odds. it may "appear" that everytime you have KK, someone has AA, but i'm sure that's not true, and if you actually counted over X number of tournaments, I'm sure you'll find that KK treats you well. If an A comes on the flop after you've made a strong preflop raise, I think you still have to make a decent bet. If someone has an Ace, they will call or raise, or maybe fold thinking you have a better kicker. but if they re-raise, then you can always run. i'll take a KK hand anyday

wow.. i just read about the wa/wb concept and realized maybe there are many things i dont know about poker...I always thought i was pretty well educated in poker, but it seems i am lacking some of the advanced strategies...just a question regarding the post on wa/wb....if the turn is check-checked after we "induce" the bet on the flop....(which i do a lot, but never thought out why it was strategic to do so) what size bet do we call on the river? Most of my regular opponents would read my check on the turn as weakness and try to bet me out on the river even with nothing... So how do i decide what is worth it to see if they are bluffing the pot one last time?

ya, i'm very curious too. my friends do that to me all the time. and they can usually tell. they'll say something like "you have a pocket between ace and 9" then they'll bet big and chace me out.

The biggest problem most folks have with AA or KK is they don't know when to let em go. They are great preflop DUH! so bet em big and narrow the field. If I get more than 2 callers to the flop I start preparing my self to let em go. Ideally I only want one caller.

Keep in mind they are great starters and poor finishers.

^^^this^^^, when holding KK and you lead out in betting, do not go all-in immediately even if faced with a re-raise.
If you had made a 5-6xBB raise(#1) pre-flop and there is one player who re-raises(#2) you, then it would be safe to put them on AA, AK or QQ, now you want to go all-in at this time?, no.
re-raise(#3) the villian, at this point the villian will have only two moves here, call, which is likely if holding AK,QQ or push all-in(#4) which would be a strong indication of AA, this is where you fold your KK.
It all has to do with the "4th raise means aces" rule.
This rule is almost always accurate. If you follow the rule, you'll save yourself money in the long run.

IMHO, there is not one hand in hold-em that is worth an all-in pre-flop unless your short-stacked.

I agree. All you have is one pair, and should be treated as such. Post flop, some people are still excited by that pretty pair in thier hand and logic goes out the window. Online, I pretty much follow the "one pair = crap hand" rule.
