I sent you the hand history of aprox 120 hands.

I don't play ring games at all. I actually didn't play the rebuy tonight to do this

Here's the stats I grabbed off of stars, I have no Idea what they mean well a little

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 120 hands and saw flop:
- 18 out of 21 times while in big blind (85%)
- 13 out of 21 times while in small blind (61%)
- 33 out of 78 times in other positions (42%)
- a total of 64 out of 120 (53%)
Pots won at showdown - 13 of 19 (68%)
Pots won without showdown - 14

All I know is I started with 7$ and ended with aprox 21$ 6 man at that, I even had one guy after me taking his 2$ all in twice come back with a bigger stack...revenge never works...

I'll give it a shot...

Took my entire br at Stars ( a whoping $1.25 from a CC game) to a $.01/.02 ring and left with $3.52 at exactly 100 hands. I have a screen shot and HH when ever you wish. If not I'll just go back to those tables and build up my miniscule br into enough to play.

Note to self: Play the French tables, they are suckers for any kind of play! Also funny as heck trying to translate the names they called me when I slow played 'em.

re-downloaded Poker Tracker last night, had troubles with it before and had to get rid of the one I had. Anyway, here's a screenshot of the graph for the session.

Play far looser that ever, most of the time it was just 3 players calling everything. I hate playing that loose but had to adapt to the players at the table. 56.19 BB/100

firstly, thanks again for doing this FD, even if I dont get picked, it's still nice of you to do this.
secondly, thanks for giving me an incentive to play the ring games again, and to take it seriously, never bothered too much in the past, cause Im normally crap at them, anyway, here's my attempt, started with $10:

Stupid Question of the day, how do you calculate BB/100? I'm a bit puzzled by my pt stats as to how they do it. I was playing .01/.02 ring

Started with 1.25, left with 3.52 in 100 hands making 2.27, BB = .02 (or in my simple math $2.27 divided by $.02 = 113.5 bb's worth of profit.... not close to what pt shows as bb/100)

I was wondering the same thing...

4 dogs calculated my BB/100 exactly as PT has it for that session, but I honestly don't know how to calculate it exactly.

I know what BB means in Limit, but not quite sure how to get it in NL or how PT goes about getting it.

PT uses twice the big blind to calculate BB/100 (that's Big Bets not big blinds).

I dunno if the rings are required, but I can probably afford to buy in to this tourney if I decide to play.
You know I thought about using an MTT or a SnG as the qualifier. It would be more relevant; after all, we are working on getting into a tournament aren't we. I decided to go with the cash session instead for a few reasons. With a SnG or an MTT, I would have to use something like ROI (Return on Investment) as the qualifier as something like BB/100 would get muddled depending on what level you played to, how fast the blinds rose, how many people at the table etc. It was to complicated.
It seemed to me that sticking to cash games made it alot easier to compare apples to apples, buy-ins, limit, gametype not withstanding.

The other reason was that I want to encourage cash game play. I truly believe that improving your cash game fundamentals is the key to tournament success. I made it 100 hands/100 posts+ to keep out the newbie Hit-n-Runs. I didn't want some 3 poster who I've never heard of to double up with a pair of dueces on his 1st hand and present it as an example of superb poker skills.

Sorry about the long explanation nick, but I must insist on the cash game at this point, just to be fair. But nice going on those 2 MTT's.

Exactly. Just take your bb/100 (big blinds/100 hands) and divide it by 2 to get BB/100 (Big Bets/100 hands). A Big Bet is the maximum allowed bet in Limit Hold'em for the last 2 rounds of betting, the Turn and the River. The maximum bet Pre Flop and Flop is of course equal to the big blind. It is common to see the first written as BB/100 (upper case) and the 2nd as bb/100 ( lower case) I know it sounds unnecessarily complicated, but this was conventional long before No Limit Hold'em was common.

Unfortunately whilst well intentioned at being amusing, some (lots) of members are actually taking this thread a little seriously. If you find it so amusing im sure you can throw in another stake ?

I'm sorry if I might have offended anyone taking part in this challenge (I am taking part as well). It was clearly not my intention to offend anyone. I do not find the thread amusing, nor am I disrespecting it. If this sort of thing makes people angry, then maybe I should just think twice about any attempt at humor that I may have.

Did you ever do it? Because if I ever see you at a $5 table I'm going to pop in and make the competition a bit more challenging.

I birded Aloevera during her run. She actually lost some towards the end to bring her total down. I guess all that steady flow of A/K's she was getting dried up.

I've been a bit blase about my play lately, hitting more tournaments just to mix things up. Maybe taking a run at 100 hands of $5 will give me something to shoot for. Hmmmm... (I'd refuse the prize if I actually one. I don't need the buy-in and would rather some smaller bankrolled player take it.)

Yep, actually when I moved to nl ring games, i started at the lowest level available, I believe it was nl$5 on stars, and built my roll from scratch, moving up when i had 10 buy-ins for the next level. Once I hit nl$25 I changed that rule to 20buyins, now before i move to nl$200 I want 40 buyins.

ok haven't played NL ring games in a while. Played .01/.02 buyin 1.59 100 hands cashout 6.49 today on pokerstars
Was ready to go after 60 hands but decided to try to qualify so put a dollar back in hanging around. I have the hand history but I'll be embarassed to share it, not much poker being played here. I found a ATC REraiser and doubled through him twice TTvAx and QQvAJo.
Note: my bankroll isn't really that low but these are the levels i play on .02/.05 and am not ready to buy into $10. If I qualify and happen to cash I could in turn give a few of the dead broke a cardschats 1.10 buyin
