| I think I might have found a better game for me Limit Hold 'Em used to be a boring way to pass the time. Now, playing micros anyway, I'm winning like a pro! I've been playing it for the past week on the cash tables and today used some money I had on PS to play in a couple of 6 man SnGs. I've won 2 of the SnGs and took 2nd in another. My graph for cash has a nice big up streak instead of a down streak. I went to the SnGs today because I hit a little turbulence in the cash games. I didn't really lose anything but my graph for the day was looking like the rocky mountains. I figured I'd change it up a bit and see how that worked. Does anyone know of some good strat stuff that I could look at the is free? I've checked out some stuff on here. I'm just looking for anything that might help me out. |

| I'm hoping that they are not as brutal as NLHE. So far I haven't seen anything to suggest such, but like I said, I'm playing micros. But I expect to see some sort of a downswing just like any poker. I'm just trying to make sure I keep my math right and make good calls and folds. Seems to be working great so far down here in the gutter. |

| Ah, Limit Holdem - that brings back memories. Inspired by this thread, I jumped into a 50c/$1 cash game on FT and started playing Limit for the first time in ~5 years. I am ahead 12 Big Bets in 50 hands. I feel mean taking these poor folks`chippies. They have no clue. |

Too funny. And they really don't. They won't let go of suited connectors to save their lives. They won't toss 66 when you are betting every street with KKQJ on the board. They suck! But marginal turned on my doomswitch and he won't turn it back off! |

Maybe for nlhe players trying to play 'cap all rounds' online poker, that might be true. For the experienced limit player, limit games are money makers !! IMO that applies to holdem as well as stud format games. Quote:
3 of my 4 (all non-deposit) bankrolls continue to grow since I play ONLY limit ring games. The only exceptions are the CC low buy-in games when I have the time, regardless of the game being played. My 4th BR is stagnant only because I won it playing a nlhe tourney and never use it (I don't like the site). OTOH... I've only played limit games profitably, without major nlhe style downswings, since '69... so what do I know .... |

Yep. The only big error I`ve made - I folded my overpair because I was convinced by villain`s hyper-aggressive betting and raising that he must have at least a set. Turned out he had only middle pair and the other fool who called along all the way to the showdown had bottom pair. |

| I want to petition the court in the case of dg1267 vs. marginal. dg1267 claims that marginal turned on his "doom switch" and would like to provide evidence to the court. In both photos you will clearly see where marginal "flipped the switch" and dg1267 is demanding that the switch be turned off and that he be paid 423 brazillion dollars and 08 cents for damages and pain and suffering. The #1 side is before the switch was flipped, and #2 is after. |

| It's not opinion it's fact that lhe has higher variance than nlhe. Just look at your standard deviation from nlhe and lhe and you'll see. Also while it's easy at lower-stakes if you get up to 1/2+ lhe on the major sites anyway they're so reg-infested that literally the biggest winners are rakeback pros that barely beat the rake whereas you see nlhe players at stakes up to 25/50 that are able to consistently grind and make a ton of money. Now granted if you just want to play micros and make easy money do whatever's more fun and all that but if you want to progress/get better/eventually make more money you should learn games like nlhe/plo or if you wanna do limit games learn like HORSE that just have a lot more fish and actually are beatable after rake at higher stakes. Also HORSE includes limit so you'll be playing limit against people who may not be that great at it and are jut playing HORSE because they like variety and aren't too good at any games. |

| re: Poker & I think I might have found a better game for me Well I don't claim to be that good at lhe but in most cases people call down super-light because you're getting like 15:1 or something on most pots so even if they're bluffing 1/16 of the time it's a profitable call. In nlhe you're usually getting more like 2:1 or 3:1 depending on bet sizing so they have to be bluffing 25-33% to make it a profitable call. |
