I'm in the Sunday 100k on Pokerstars

Well just wanted to tell everyone that I'm in the Sunday 100k on Stars just won a Sat to it, it was a sit n go sat, 70fpps um, just wondering anyone played in it? how's the play and what type of game plan should I have?, I've never played in it so kind of like what to do, I'm all hyped up, and it's only Monday hahahah

I really doubt I'll take it down but if I did, that would give me a big boost to my Bank Roll since i'm currently at Zero

any how cheers

First place in that tourny would be a little more than a big boost to your bankroll, first place is like 25 grand or something .

Anyway you just need to play really tight for the first hour or two, bet the hell out of your big hands and you'll probably get paid off. DO NOT BLUFF FOR THE FIRST HOUR AT LEAST!

its just a huge tournament that starts out very slow and gets ramped up really hard really fast.

play super tight, i usually aim to see <12% of my hands in a game like that if i can help it.

btw, in case you didnt know, the satellite is just a gift certificate. you can unregister from the tournament, receive $11 in tournament money, and play some sit n go's -->>> i would HIGHLY recommend this if your bankroll is @ 0 considering bankroll management here.

The first time i played in it I was surprised at how many players were in it (i think 20,000) the largest MTT i've ever played in by far. I played fairly tight almost the whole time, especially until the first break, and immediately after reaching the money. Like any other MTT people begin pushing with more marginal hands after popping the bubble. Fairly constant tight play and a decent run of cards helped me finish in ~1100th for $60 i believe (was a few months ago and i haven't played it since.) anyways, good luck on the possible spike in your BR.

Good luck. I played a couple of these this past weekend. I might try it again - seems a good way to use FPP's.

That's crazy. Bodog's 100K on sunday has about 600-700 people. 25K 1st price, pays all the way until 99th.

Normally 10 minute blind levels are not that bad, but with 25k people things can get nasty. You need to catch big hands in this tourney, and catch them often

I haven't had any problems with bodog at all.. Everytime I called them up they have been very professional. I'm not sure why you would call it "crap".. I guess you had some bad experiences on there. Personally I don't want the site where 10,000 people flock to 1 100,000 tournament. I also see alot of pay-out problems with the other sites (which people post all over here)

The $4.40 satellite games to get in only have about 125-150 people and if you get top 25 you get $109 tournament credits which you can use for the 100k or anyway you want.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. Some people see their favorite pro playing with a full-tilt shirt on TV and they feel like they have to play there, jumping on the bandwagon.

I call it crap because of the same reason everybody else does, it's the worst poker site in the world.

Sounds like this is where I am supposed to be, that is some positive EV with satellites, but they are rebuy right?

What is the buy-in for the 100k on Pokerstars?

And congrats naruto, take it down.

I'm a big fan of the Sunday 100k, mainly because the $2 satellites are pretty easy.

I've played in a few, and never did very well until I reminded myself that even though you start with 3000 chips, 10-minute levels are pretty fast. Once I started treating it like a SNG and ramping up my aggression with select hands, I did much better, and got a few decent payoffs.

Don't let the huge field bother you. That just means that the top 4000 or so get paid.

LOL "I don't like it because other people don't" I just figured I'd ask to see if you actually had a valid reason for not liking it.

Unlimited rebuy until the first break for another $4. Add-on of 2,000 chips for another $4 during the break, then no re-buys after that. The best one is in the middle of the day on Saturday (around 3pm I think), I've seen that one under 100 people before.

The highest number of people I've ever seen in it was around 200, but it's normally around 125-150. Really great odds, especially considering alot of the people don't even rebuy. I've won 3 or 4 of them without even making any huge moves, just sitting around folding pretty much.

Well if you want my specifics here are some:

1. The site is ugly as hell
2.Support sucks
3.The table layout is horrible
4.Bad tournament lobbies
5. Did I mention it is ugly?

You will find that I'm not the only person that feels this way about the site as well

How does the support suck? Call them up right now and see if you have to wait for any menu's or anything. If you called them the phone would ring 3 or 4 times and someone would answer right away, they're usually very nice also (which is something you don't find in customer service very often). My e-mail's have all been answered in less than 3-4 hours and always gave the right info.

All of the other reasons are your personal opinions that I don't agree with.. But it's your money, your choice so that doesn't matter much. But I really don't think the support sucks.

Well, the reason pokerstars, fulltilt, etc. have so many players in their tourneys is cause Bodog sucks

Good luck Naruto. With such a huge field it is a real crap shoot. But somebody's got to win it. Dont short change yourself. Remember there are going to be a lot of worse players than you. Just play your game that got you there in the first place/

Oh by the way. Bodog has a great support staff. Unlike Full TIlt you can actually talk to a person. Its too bad they cant make their tournament selection user friendly. I dont know what the heck is going on there most of the time and their selection is limited. I would play there more often as I started with Zero and have gone up to $45 but without interesting events I play on FT where I am up 800% of my initial deposit due to great choices.

Mainly, psyche yourself for the day, be ready to go five hours easy. As the others said, play tight until the break etc., but get ready for the fact that you may be staring at a screen all day if you do well. Have sandwiches made in advance and get help walking the dog so u can chill.

also, badener, depending on the type of player that you are, there are 70 fpp tournaments that are offered under tournament --> satellite a few times each day. you can unregister if you win, receive $11, and register for the sunday 100k if you do better in larger fields. Personally, i'd rather have to place say top 20 in a field of 200, than win a field of 10, but that's just my style of play.

the Sit n go's are found under the sit n go tab - and if you hit satellite you can't miss it unless your fliter takes out fpp games.

second, for the tournament go to tournament then satellite tab. you'll see something in purple called "70 FPP sat to 55k @ 22:00" - who gives a crap what its "for" you can unregister from all of these - the biggest joke are the "differences" in satellites to SUNDAY MILLION OR WARM-UP, BOTH ARE THE EXACT SAME $215 - its the value that matters, you receive $11 for winning once you unregister - then use this for the sunday 100k if you want. if you still have trouble finding them, tomorrow (5/24), one tournament # is:
88687363

i decided to enter this tournament.. even though I don't like it that much.
i made a HUGE mistake early on smooth calling a 4x raise with KK, then A22 comes on the board and I called an all in (stupid me), went from a massive on table CL to ~average.

Either way, I just made the bubble so far, 16k chips (@average). Anyone else still in this badboy?
