I'm Nervous

So I play on Full Tilt and have been grinding those Main Event Freerolls for a while. I came in second on a .COM one two days ago and won a Round 2 ticket. In Round 2, I got off to a bad start and was down to 900 chips before I caught a run of cards and ended up winning Round 2! Now I have a chance at the Main Event buy-in off a freeroll with a projected field of 250 players! I checked yesterday and they paid 1st-3rd a Main Event buy-in. But I checked today and they have upped to pay the Top 5 players Main Event buy-ins. Here's the catch though; they added 2 payouts, but they also added Karina Jett to field! Anyone have any advice?

Sounds like you are doing just fine. Get some rest and remove distractions during the game.

Don't let Karina scare you. Scared money/chips = lost money/chips.

It's still a freeroll. It's still online. She's just as handicapped as you are in a lot of ways based on those facts alone.

Also just lemme congratulate you on making it this far. Those round 1 freerolls are a real pain in the neck to last in to even the top 500. So WTG!

Now hang in there and best of luck .

But I am curious. If you're intimidated by one pro in an online freeroll, why even bother going for that seat at the Main Event? See? So come on, don't let her scare you, she's got kids for crying out loud. They'll probably distract her since little ones are good at that sort of thing. I've seen Annie Duke miss a lot of hands online just cuz home life took her away from the computer for a bit. Oh and don't forget, no matter what happens, freeroll or Main Event, make sure to learn! It's a golden opportunity .

I'm just so happy for you. A tiny bit jealous. But mostly happy. Wanted a hug emoticon but my options were so limited. Have an imaginary beer on me.

Wow bro..I definitely am jealous haha. I tried those round 1 freerolls and they drove me nuts, so congratulations making it this far. If I don't forget, I'll make sure to rail you. You should make a seperate Thread on Sunday like an hour before you're about to play, so we can all remember to rail you.

How many entrants are there in the final?

Well done for getting this far anyway, played a couple of them myself, even wth cards they're hard to get through. They play so wild!

Good luck on Sunday.

As of right now, there are 208 entrants. After today and tomorrows Round 2's, I expect there to be around 230-270 entrants. With 5 seats up for grabs, it's gonna be a fight!

I like chicks with a certain style. So I think Karina Jett is HOT!! She's not gorgeous or stone-cold beautiful. I just think the way she presents herself is sooo HOT!

congrats on making it that far and btw Karina Jett is not even that good, I would say she is semi-pro not pro, just dont let it get to your head and what are the chances she will be on your table?

Yep, this is the best advice. I employed that at the WSOP and nearly busted Victor Ramdin. To me, the pros were just other players at my table.

And considering there will be 250-270 people in this thing, the chances of the OP facing Karina Jett are slim anyway.

well done m8, well done indeed, how much longer are those MAIN EVENT races finals running for ?

like the other guy said, Ms. Jett shouldnt be a problem, i have seen her play on the Professional Poker Tour's only season on air, nothing too special IMO, she is a TAG player that on occassion will be sticky on some flops but release by turn if facing consistent betting pressure but then again you should miss her by virtue of randomized seat draws...

What is your overall game plan for the tourney ?

you seem very level headed, understanding when cards help you more than skill, you ll be fine

I have a pretty strict gameplan for MTT's. I play very tight through the first 2 levels, since many of the overly-aggressive players will be crippled and forced to pick their spots. Then, I usually lossen up a little, playing like normal. After I build a stack, I usually try to stay out of pots, letting the other players take each other out. When it gets to down to 3 or 4 tables left, I play very aggressive. Blinds are easier to steal and everyone usually tightens up when they realize how close to the final table they are. At a final table I play a mixture of all three, never keeping the same betting pattern. If anyone can expand on this strategy or has any suggestions, please feel free to post. All of your advice is appreciated! I love this site so far and I hope to be around for a while!
