I'M FINALLY FREE!!!

I’ve been wanting to do it for 6 yrs, because no one thought it should be done. All my friends thought I would be the biggest donkey in the history of poker—which actually made me want to do it even more!

We all read books, post on poker forums, ask experienced players “HOW TO PLAY THE GAME,” and most agree it should be played a certain way. I was going to be freed of all of “their” advice, one day… today was the day.

I’ve always felt handcuffed in the way I should approach certain hands, focusing on EV, pot equity, fold equity, pot odds, implied pot odds, and every other freakin thing a “good” player should focus on. Of course, all of those things are important, but sometimes we should do what we want, when we want, just because we want.

Today I just wanted… TO FOLD POCKET ACES PRE-FLOP IN A CASH GAME! Just because… for no reason, other than being able to say I did it… just because I said so. What was short-term –EV today, will definitely turn into long-term +EV in the future. The second I mucked those Aces, I felt like anything was possible from now on!

Free at last!

-Dayne

When you talked about being freed from your friends I thought you were gonna say you killed them or something, lol

Oh well, useless!

I too folded AA preflop today to a 3bet no less. You see after I raised UTG the idiot on the button 3bet and that's when the damn table froze. It opened up just after I timed out and mucked my Aces. I must say I didn't find it one bit liberating. In fact it rather pissed me off.

Well that would have to be the best reason to fold AA when are you going to write a poker how to book and share this amazing concept with the rest of the worldwide poker community.

I'm guessing you play .01/.02, because any sane person that played higher stakes than that wouldn't do this. It's just so frickin' stupid.

I also folded AA preflop a few days ago...i however was suffering from "can't click on the right button to save my life syndrome" rather than wanting to be free from whatever this thread is talking about.

Dayne!! Oh Man... This is GREAT stuff...
Never mind the negative respons above of some members. These guys are handcuffed, blinded and jailed in their never ending quest for the pokerplayers dream to be the best and let others believe that
You reached pokerzen, YOU busted out of the ridged poker players "play perfect" rule that prevents the REAL insights of relativity..... and the fun of letting loose
If u indeed played .01 /.02... Nirwana...What an incredible bargon for that price.
Imagine all the anger of the pokerworld: u waisted 2cts cause i am sure u did it on the BB to enhence the effect

Come on guys, respect the fun he had and more so the psychological advantages.. for real... cause I am convinced u play better if ur mind is unattached, surfing the waves of faith, laughing out loud, not put down by psychological barriers.. free to take ur opponents chips while he is still staring at his handhistory.. wondering where his read of this AA folding irrational fish went wrong

Ow.. one other thing: I am going to fold AA preflop (on the BB) as soon as possible!!
I suspect you started a hype: let's ALL do it...!!

Even better, let's change the rules: if u play AA you will get banned from the poker room as ur obviously only in it for the money

Today I ran with scissors, walked under a ladder, broke a mirror, stepped on a crack, waited 'til a black cat ran across my path, and open limped 84os UTG. Can I join the club now?

Know what my boyfriend likes to do on those FT After Dark freerolls that pop up all day, where only 1 player wins a seat to the next level? He bets 1499 chips, 5 other people go all-in. When it comes back to him....pause....pause...fold.

Folding AA preflop? Now thats not very impressive. Get enough hands in a day and you'll get aces like 10 times. At least do something decent like take your whole BR to one table and go allin every hand until its gone. That would be something maybe worth making a thread about.
