I hate microlimits

I recently started playing at Bodog after making a deposit of 100 bucks. I have small bankroll so I have to start at the microlimits (10/25c) but man do I hate it. I always have trouble with these limits even thoug I play tight aggressive b/c most of them are loose . This means that preflop I only raise with premium hands like AQ and mid pairs to high pairs. Its funny that they limp in by posting 25c then I have a nice hand on late position so I raise to like $2 and they call . Hilarious! Bluffing is almost nonexistent b/c they will call you down with bottom pair and therefor you can't take a stab at the flop either b/c they think its just change when in reality the freaking pot is small and you dont have the odds. I just want to get my BR up higher so I can play at the 50/1 limits where raising actually means something. I just seem to struggle with these tables , anyone else?

if you cant beat em join thm i play any 2 crds and do ok its just style clashing

eat up all the dead money. tons of people limp-fold preflop at those limits. take the free like 5bb per orbit.

If you want to minimize your risk, possibly increase your BR and play your style, then may I suggest low buy-in SnGs.
TAG is very effective in these and making the money is quite easy.

interesting you say that b/c I started thinking that if my opponents play any 2 cards then I should start doing the same if I am near the button and hope to flop big. The only difference between them and me is that if I flop small then I know when to get rid of them . This goes against what I belive in poker and reading books telling you not to play junk but if might pay off when I flop trips to the idiot who limped in with Aces.

not sure what you mean here? you mean raise the limpers and steal the blinds? kind of hard when they will not lay down their blind to a raise as big as 10x the BB.

I would assume that he meant they limp trying to flop something and fold when they don't. If you have the position, bet when checked to. Or when you monster flop it, charge them for all the calls with bottom pairs
However, I'm a pretty big donk, so it might be that this was the furthest thing from his mind

Playing like them is an easy way to lose all your money. Not to mention, it develops bad habits that will also hurt you when you play good players. Just play normally and take those wins when you have big hands. Let the donks trade money while you wait for the moment.

I developed bad habits playing fake money and, while i quickly turned 1000 play money into 300k, i lost it just as quickly when i assumed the posture and mentality of the donk player - and bought into the any two cards theory. I got bad beat and busted so much by stuff that should have not made it past the flop but got called all the way to a catch on the river.

I will not be making that mistake again. No sir.

Now I need to relearn my game and strategies because I feel like I know less than when my only stragety to enter a pot was Facecard + 9 or better.
