| I don't understand **rebuys** I am in the 5k rebuy on FT and at my table 1 guy has went allin EVERY single hand no matter what. Doing this he has bought in over 14 times each time being a double buyin (3000 instead of 1500) so thats 84$ already + an addon which at the break gives him a tally of 6k in chips which I am up to 9k with no rebuy no addon. Almost everyone at the table is near 10k chips b/c of this guy so I am not complaining. Hell 2 guys are 20k or more. What makes people do this is what baffles me. He will have to make the final table to even think about breaking even. It just blows my mind... |

| Rebuys are magnets for people with more dollars than sense. Watch him and you will see that he will get real tight after the break and he can't rebuy anymore, but it wont last. He wont be able to help himself and he will go out before the 2nd break. If you can hold your emotions in check, you can collect from this ATM machine and do very nice for yourself |

| The reason people do this is to try to get a big stack before the rebuy period ends. By rebuying many times the number of chips at your table greatly increases which in turn allows for a better chance at acccumulating alot of chips. Like zach said if you watched the wsop rebuy event lots of top pros play crazy wreckless like this. I forget how many rebuys Daniel Negreanu went through but it was alot. |

| Dead, I'm not going out and telling you to go all in every hand because even in the rebuy that's probably not a good strategy. What I'm saying is that it is fairly common for even experienced pros to play ultra aggressive during the rebuy period to try to accumulate chips. They don't mind losing a couple stacks because it means there are more chips at the table and therefore a chance for a potential monster stack going out of the rebuy period. |

| Every hand is stupid, but it is a common tactic to rebuy ALOT, hopefully not too much, but you should gamboool early in a rebuy. Any pair, 2 high cards, you want to try to double up with. If you are getting lucky you can build a massive stack early, thus being able to build an even bigger stack once the rebuy is over and alot of people have added on to their stack. |

| I don't understand the OP...you say you don't understand them? Well really you should love that maniac...first of all its easy to call him with a nice hand and usually double up,...these are the ppl that make the cahs so high....who cares if you dont understand why they do this maniac style of playing...just keep doing what your doing, obv winning, and it will pay off... also when I played in the 11$ rebuy i OPR'd a guy who had like 200k i winnings....he was doing this style of play and said he had the money too |

I have seen the guys who shove with decent hands and just rebuy, but, never to the extent this guy was. Any 2 cards just about he was shoving. I couldn't and still can't wrap my head around why |

| I don't get it eiether, dead-----But then I try not to play in Re-buy tournys to often. But when I do play in one, I generally won't re-buy in the 1st half, mainly because I don't drop low enough to do it! I try to keep my chip stack above the re-buy cut-off. And if I'm doing that poorly in the 1st half of the tourny to drop down to the re-buy level, I prolly would get out. However, when it comes to the ADD-ON I WILL add-on double to keep my chip stack at the same level it would be as if this weren't a re-buy tourny to begin with! Make any sense? |

it is very common, and the only logic I see behind it is being able to get lucky over many hands and being monster stacked for a guaranteed finish? |

| I play 5k rebuy on Ultimate Bet just about 4x per week. It's a $1 entry & $1 rebuys 1st half hour then 3000 /6000 add on for $1/$2 at end of rebuy period. I see this strategy quite often all-in any 2 high cards PPA/rag etc. It put a lot of chips into play at the table & gives someone maybe even 2 a chance to accumulate big stack when they do have premium holdings & others are still calling with less than premium hands thinking the are still playing loose aggresive. I normally put about $5 into this each night 3 rebuys if needed & double add-on at end of rebuy period. |

| I've often wondered that if entering rebuys without the intention of every rebuying would be a good strategy. The idea of a rebuy is somewhat odd to me, so I have never played these tourneys. I'm not so silly as to think there is necessarily something WONG with a rebuy tourney. There is just something gamble-y about it that doesn't appeal to me. That said... I've always though taking one down for just the entry fee would feel pretty good. |

| In a rebuy I will set a predetermined amount I'm going to spend on rebuy's plus the add on. It will usually be 5X the buy-in. My goal in a rebuy is to win the tournament, not just cash. I like to have at least 16,000 chips by the end of the rebuy period and will play a little looser. If there are three or more involved in an all in I'm not afraid to call with any two connectors or suited pockets in hopes of winning that pot. If I reach 5K or more I slow down and become more selective, but keep in mind that my 1st hour goal is 16K in chips. With ten minutes or less left in the rebuy period and I'm way short of that goal I will avoid any more rebuys or even the add on. I seem to do ok in rebuy's following that pattern. It may or may not suit others. The good thing about being short of my goal of 16 K is that many of those doing a lot of rebuys is that they have trouble changing gears and tightening up after the rebuy period. Keep an eye on them. You can pick up chips from them. |

Rebuys give you the opportunity of going on with the game and reach the bubble. But they are also one of the best ways of losing your bankroll. You can find bad players playing them and "survive" with money power. But most of the time they are losers... |
