Hows the live poker scene where you live? I live close to Liverpool and there are £30 entry freezeout tournaments and £10 rebuy most nights in the city at one of the casinos which attract a field of normally between 50 and 100 players so its not bad. Also there are money games in the casinos in evenings but these are far less popular. The level of play I find live locally is certainly significantly higher than what you get online at equivalent buy ins.

live poker I play at the cherokee casino which has live play and alot of tournaments each week. They have a 15 with unlimited rebuys and double addon at the break which pays out really well if you can keep from rebuying to much. The cash games are lucrative. Alot of high rolling fish but some pretty good players. All in all its not bad place to play not being in vegas or something.

being from philadelphia is great because its only a short drive to atlantic city where there are plenty of casinos to choose from, my favorite being the borgata. the suburbs of philly are jampacked with bars that host poker games on a regular basis. they have nightly prizes as well as an overall leaderboard tourny at the end of the season where the top 10 players get buy ins for an atlantic city trip. finding a cash game around here is never a problem, just have to watch where you go to play, i have heard stories of chip placing and team play but i stick with the people i am familiar with so i dont run into them problems.

hi here in romania where i live in the heart of transsylvania there are only a few places where we can play poker, 2 or 3 places in the city. And the buy in would be somewhere between 30 Euro up to 250 euro. And players, not very much of them, up to 50 players at live tables

I'm in Newcastle aswell and know of quite a few live poker games that are available most nights, although I mainly stick to online play because of the convenience. Hopefully off to Vegas mid next year so am pretty excited about seeing the play out there.

Here in Hawaii, there are no casinos!!!arrrggg!!!! From what I understand there are some good home games, but kind of hard to get in on. I host a game one-two times a month and can usually sit a table of 8, sometimes 10. would like to expand it to two tables just to get the pot built. I've seen some hawaii style names in the forum, feel free to private message me to see if I can get you in here or i can get in your home game.

Only one casino here, so they rake you through the eyeballs - they charge time and rake every pot in ring games. Tournaments have the standard awful casino structures for the most part and reasonably high entry fees too. On the upside though, the standard of play is usually awful. Outside the casino we've got a load of options if you just want to play. On any given night of the week there'll be dozens of pubs with tournaments running. Mostly they're free to enter, some of them even have prizes worth winning. Most of them are self-dealt though and as a semi-professional dealer that puts me on life tilt so I don't bother too often.

Rake free cash game every tuesday night, well policed in a back room of a bar. Rake free tourneys every thursday night and friday night. Rake free cash game every Sunday night, (buy in is $2K though so a little high for me even though i have played it once) No casinos. But rake free is all good.

re: Hows the live poker scene where you live? In nothern Missouri here, no casino's with in an hour away. But plenty of weak cash games for any where from $10 to $100 buy in. They are all calling staitions though, so if you are not catching cards that night, you just end up about even. I caught quad 9's in my home game about a week ago and that was the only real winning hand I had in about 5 hours of play. Did manage to bluff a few, but it's hard to do when they will call you down with any two cards. On the positive side, if you can catch a hand now and then, it's pretty easy to make some good money. I would like to see some pictures of some of everybody's home game set up. I can post some of mine, but it's nothing fancy. I do have a table that seats 10 players though and that is kinda nice when it's full.
