How to really play pockets 10s and under

This all depends on the stakes, but Hillbilly's on the mark, especially for $50NL and up. $10NL and down you're gonna really have to watch for calling stations that will play any Ace or suited King.

You're always hoping for a set, but by raising you 1) take control of the hand (I raise 22, get called by 99, flop misses us both and I c-bet, you ??) and you start building the pot for those times you do hit your set.

Flat calling someone else's raise, even OOP is fine too, 'cause there again you're looking for your set, you miss, you fold (unless you think a float will work).

Limping from early/mid can be okay, but as Hillbilly says, what do you put someone on who's limped from early or mid? Again, the stakes (and thereby your opponent's implied abilities) are a factor, as are stack sizes (you don't get implied odds calling a short stack raise with low pairs).

I would think an agressive bet preflop would narrow down the field and give you a better chance of winning with the pair. If the board comes good for the 10's then you're good. If not dont be afraid to get away from them on a big bet. If another 10 comes then you're golden. I think if you don't bet them then you may increase the chances of someone with a marginal hand staying in and catching.

i have been beat so many times with them tens ans jacks and i play them like a big pair but you get so many people who chase they sll stay for the flop or they stay till the river aand beat you out

honestly after the other day I don't like pocket anything, I have realized that anyone could have two pair and that would beat pocket anything, unless you get lucky and get your third card.

i go from playing the hand to playing the players
hoping to not get caught in a hand wit more than 3 and always see flop and never go all in unless your at the end of tourney and position is right(final table/ late position). p.s. if you do get caught wit more than three don't push unless their all tight solid players and the flop is all under you.

even jj can be considered as a low pair, the truth is if you push enough and only one player called that has AK or AQ, there is no difference between 22 and JJ. %55 vs %45. so its up to you, playing very aggresively like this and watching a coinflop or play tight. if there is 3 players other than you, and you have no set, folding is best option.

i agree, i always limp and wait and hope to catch a set, i may call a small reraise depending on my stack. if i dont catch a set on the flop i will fold to any raise unless i am high pair.

depends if its tourny or cash game, your position at the table, your chip position, and many other factors. In general, make standard 3x big blind raise from late position, or just call from early position hoping to hit your set. If you need to make a stand, do it with Tens or 99. There is no manual on exactly what to do in all situations, you have to way all of the factors.

Hands like pocket tens and below depend on position and the kind of company your keeping at the table.If you are at a table with loose players then a raise can be a dangerous play because you know your going to be competing with multiple players with the odds of hitting your set being slim.I would however make a reasonable raise in late position with few callers in front of you to slim the field.

i'd raise to 2bb....and try and catch my set...or if evryone folds,i'd be happy to ccollect the blinds...and proceed further based on da flop...

I only play pocket 10s when I am in position, and even then I am prepared to fold, I lost allot of chips with 10s and have since learned my lesson. Even if the flop gives you top pair your usually fighting straight or flush draws, the only time I am confident with them is when I pull out a full house or 4 of a kind, any other time I usually fold them if i dont hit. Id rather have 2 7 then pocket 10s. They are a very deceiving hand.
