in deepstack tournaments its often good to limp or call small raises with hands that have large implied value such as suited connecters or pocket pairs. If these hands hit, they can often give your stack a very healthy boost and lead to a deep run in the tourney.

As long as the blinds are cheap and your stack is large have some fun and see alot of flops cheaply.....loose passive.... if you hit a set or a flush/straight then get aggressive. The big stack gives you alot of time before you have to shift gears. Don't worry play happy!

You should be playing loose with implied odds hands such as suited connectors and small pairs even for a small raise. Try to play them in mulitway pots. Forget about stealing for a while and play hands for value. Playing tight isn't a very good strategy early on as you can see alot of cheap flops and build a stack whilst risking very little of it.

re: How to play a Deep Stack Tournament poker you want to see alot of cheap hands but don't chase as there will be to many players to do that if you don't hit big on flop have the sense to trhow away your hand and wait for something better. Also don't try to steal blinds or pots with min bets and raises it just wont work at this level

I think you need to limp in with a lot of hands to see a lot of flops early on especially suited connectors and small pairs which will give you a shot at doubling up early on if you hit a set, straight or flush. There are many weak players who will commit all their chips to top pair top kicker or an overpair to the board early on. Those who say you should only play premium hands for the first 2 hours in a deep stack tournament and fold everything else have totally the wrong idea, and playing like that will not get you to final tables.
