you need to learn some bankroll management if your playing 1/2 with a 100 deposit. you should have a 8000$ bankroll if you're playing 2/4.

doesn't matter. it doesn't matter how much better you are than your opponents. eventually you'll have a bad run of cards or a bad streak of bad beats. so if your playing in limits that are too big for your bankroll you'll eventually hit a downswing and lose all of it, even if your name is phil ivey or doyle brunson.

I've lost $100 over the course of two $50 deposits. My first deposit lasted 9 months, I got it up to $200 pretty quick but slowly trickled down to $0. My last $50 was depostied for tournaments because I was feeling lazy and didn't want to go to the casino to play. I thought my first deposit was pretty good considering I was really just learning the game. My second one was pretty much disposable, I didn't really try to budget it so it went pretty quick

I can concur as I have experinced this first hand. I went broke playing .10/.25 pot limit omaha and buying into too big tournies with a $120 bankroll. Now I play 2c/4c and have a $40 bankroll which isn't bad as I have been building since the start of the month (from 4 $3 SNG entry bought with points) and have had one entry to the 300k sunday this month (for an outlay of $2).

At the end of it all I have not lost anything as since I deposited $250 and I took out $300.

this is mine ^^^ im so glad my profit is not negative

btw i know my ITM is pretty bad but the main reason i am still above in profits is because i followed good BR management and on the ITMs i did win i was usually in the top 9 meaning my pay to win ratio was huge.

oh i guess you can see that in the upper right hand corner...

I have lost alot of money in the beginning when I first started playing in 2000. It seemed like the first year and a half seem to be a learning stage. I think everyone loses more than what they will tell you on here. But as time goes one and you learn, you will make up the loses you have had in the past. But tell you the truth, I have went broke more than once, until I learned alittle bankroll management.

Wow, YOU HAVE DONE GREAT!! I started out good, deposited $600 in Full Tilt, got it up to 1200 including bonus, drew out 600, and then everything went to pot!! I lost 600, redoposited the original 600, lost that!!! Now I am just a bonus hound. I go from site to site earning bonuses and am up maybe $1000. I am not a good poker player!!
