| re: How messed up is these ? poker I'm assuming this was probably the second hand of the tournament looking at the chip stacks. I wouldn't really call this a bad beat, you decided to call a raise to defend your big blind with 7 10 off. You got lucky and flopped a straight. You check raised the flop and the guy with pocket kings re-raised all in, which puts you all in. I don’t think I would’ve gone all in there with pocket kings that early, but I would’ve probably re-raised you to try and isolate you, plus when you look at the board I would assume the pocket kings are still best there. I have no idea what the button was thinking, he should’ve folded after the re-raise. So you decided to call pre flop with the weakest hand, you got lucky by flopping the straight. And then UTG+1 gets lucky and his KK ends up being best!!! It’s just poker. Stuff like this happens all the time. I probably wouldn’t have called the raise pre-flop with 7 10 off that early in the tournament. I’m not an expert though. Better luck next time!! |
