How many of you guys use this kind of tool?

I found it is very useful, but I got some questions.

I'm sure a lot of people use similar programs (I'm not sure what that is) or their minds to calculate those odds. It's nothing spectacular. If it helps you and is legal to use then by all means, take advantage. Especially for beginner players.

Yep, very helpful as well when reviewing your hand history and checking to see if you made the proper play.

That doesn't look like an after the fact type of product to me. I'm not sure if I like it for anybody. I mean really, get some gumption, and some sort of vibe/read on your opponent. So far I haven't seen an app that gives you those.

I don't get it. How'd u get that deep in a hand with just A7os? Unless it was HU or short handed of course. Not for nothing but I've watched people get trapped with hands like that. Not much fun getting trapped. Not that I don't keep falling in them myself, but still. It's something to think about.

I think that thing's likely an impediment. I don't even really understand what it's doing with the whole 96% 7% 46%, but I'm under the impression it's trying to tell you how much equity you have.

I think this kind of thing is doing nothing but distracting you from much more important things to be thinking about while at the table. I'd rather have someone thinking about opponent ranges, and lines to take against specific villains to maximize equity.

I feel I played kinda better. At least I don't make foolish bluff and I bet reasonably.

I agree w Mase - instead, check out pokerstove (free) and pokerazor (not free, more functionality, more complex) - these are designed to analyze your odds against opponent hand ranges street by street.

I haven't ever used one and don't really plan on it. If you are just starting out and are having some problems in that area, I'd say spend a little time away from the table and learn how to calculate odds. There are loads of good guides out there that will help you and you'll do so much better in the long run. While you are just starting you could use that in the back ground (or even better do like others have said and get pokerstove) and check yourself against it.

There is just so much more to poker then odds, but you still need to know how to do it for your self.

No it's good to review your hand histories with a calculator. I just hadn't seen one like that.

At this point I could use an aggression calculator that tells me how hard to push. I've been overdoing it lately. Getting my chips in good, and knowing it. Still, I rob myself of options and wind up out of the money. I gotta learn when to back off and even when to hit the brakes. Still haven't found a nifty app or gadget for my currently identified leaks.

i tried something like that once, for one day when i was a beginner...and it was a pain in the ass. i think it could turn out to be a real crutch. ericgarner118 said there's so much more to poker than odds, and he's right. if you rely on something like that nonstop, its going to be hard to learn more than what that thing will teach you. i'm not a big money player, and i don't have any software to aid me in any way to this point. i take notes and make sure my hand histories are saved and that's about it. if you sit there and check it down to the river because AKT hit the flop while you checked in on your BB with 24o, and the one limper is checking it, i think a program is a moron and wrong for telling you to check-fold...that's worth at least a stab against a good portion of opponents....especially when the blinds are high. its better for you to practice with your own head than with a calculator. there is a lot of simple math involved in the game...but it *is* poker after all. if you want to rely on your cards 100% of the time, you've got a problem

worthless when you are multitabling.

I use Pokerstove but not while im playing.

Once you get a good feel for the game...a simple odds chart is far better as a quick reference.

if you want to try something tahts very cool them go look for tournament indicator. Its a very cool help and it has a free 2 day trial.

Everyone will play the game slightly differently. If that program is what you need to win a hand or a game than use it. Just keep learning as your play and the poker software will eventually not be needed.
