How many times can i lose with pocket rockets? I don't know how too play pocket AA online. I lost w/ AA twice in tourn a tourney yesterday. I call an "all-in" bet ( they had JJ) and lost. Then, after getting my 2nd AA i tried betting 2x big-blind preflop and 4 people called. flop was K 9 J, and i had position and noone bet so I go "all-in" Got one caller...Q-10 unsuited. What am I doing wrong?

Playing AA is tough. It's important to remember nothing is unbeatable. Pre flop, I raise big, usually five times the big blind. The only people who should call are the ones with good hands, ie. AK, AQ, pairs. Raising it that big ensures that no one is going to call with trash and draw out on you when a crap flop hits. Ofcourse, this doesn't guarantee that won't still happen, but it definitely decreases the chance. Winning just the blinds with AA is so much better than losing any size of pot with them.

re: How many times can i lose with pocket rockets? poker The others had it right. 2XBB isn't enough, you invite all kinds of hands in with that bet, so bet more with aces. If you decide to try to trap by limping or just calling be prepared to fold them with a bad board and someone showing strength. The first hand nothing you can do, you got your money in good and just got unlucky, it happens to all of us believe me.

re: How many times can i lose with pocket rockets? poker You can't play AA, or any hand for that matter, a certain way everytime...so that you win with it. The cards are only a tool to beat individuals at your table. Play the people and adjust accordingly to their styles.
