remember that the amount of points you get are calculated using your limits, and if you play trny, how you place in the trny. So if you play 1000 dollar sNg and you win them a lot you will most likely get more than 300 pts a month. If you play 2500 dollar buy in cash tables, and play in large pots, than the site is making more on your rake than in a whole trny at lower limits so you will be awarded more FPP's for being involved in hands that had a lot in the pot ( because then they get the max rake). You could conceivably get more than 300 points in one sit down at a high limit cash table, than you get in the month playing at lower limits.

FPP = rake.
The bigger the pot, the more rake, the faster the FPP comes. The more tables open, the more hands, the faster the rake. The higher the limit, equals bigger pots, equals more rake, equals more FPP. Edit: Last night at .50 / 1 LIMIT I made over 300 fpp. |

I currently have about 30 some-odd thousand FPP and I play at the micro and low level ring games at PS. I accumulated most of them over a span of about 7-8 months 9-tabling it (most of that time I played the Quarter levels). You catch HUGE swings in your BR that way (9-tabling it), but regardless of those swings you build up a lot of FPP in a relatively short period of time.
Nevertheless, the level you play at and size of the winning pot has a tremendous amount of sway in the amount of FPP you are rewarded. For example, if you play aggressively and are a consistent winner in the penny or nickel tables, it will have virtually no impact on your FPP's. Conversely, playing like that at the medium and higher levels will have a monstrous pact on your FPP's. NuRelic |

i played in a omaha hi/lo freeroll, and placed first of 4986 players, i received FPP's for this place in a freeroll trny. That being the case, it is my understanding that how you place in a trny AND how much the buy-in is, is all part of the calculation they use to determine your FPP awarded for trny play. If it was just the buy-in, than I would have received NO FPP's for my finishing first in that freeroll. I am sure there is a link or page or something available in PS that explains their calculation of both trny and ring game FPP systems. If one were so inclined to check for it .....

1. Earn FPP credits for cash game play First Frequent Player Point (FPP) is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches:
2. Earn FPP credits for tournament play Five (5) FPP credits are awarded for each $1 in tournament fees paid. For example, playing in a poker tournament with $20 buy-in and $2 tournament fee, each player will be awarded 10 FPP credits. *Note that partial Frequent Player Points are always rounded to the nearest whole number. In a $5 buy-in Sit & Go poker tournament with only a $0.50 fee, 3 FPP credits (instead of 2.5) will be awarded to each player who played poker in the tournament. In a $5 buy-in 4-player Heads-Up Sit & Go poker tournament with only a $0.25 fee, 1 FPP (instead of 1.25) will be awarded to each player who played poker in the tournament. Please note that "FreePlay" tournaments do not award FPP credits. You can play poker for fake money at our free tables, but these poker games and tournaments are not part of the PokerStars FPP program. |

FPPs are awarded purely on rake/tournament fee, nothing to do with your placement in tourneys. You must have mistaken where you got those points, duesx.
I've got exactly 19,760 in my account right now and am desperately trying to scrape out 1,894 before the end of the month to achieve platinum. Only ~4700 hands to go! |

I assume the FPP multiplier also helped him out. If he's a SuperNova Elite the 400% bonus gets him 5 FPP credits for every 1 VPP he earns. |

i would like to add something to this, im not positive if its still the same way as it used to be. before time as you got higher rank like vip or w/e then u get double amount of point so the higher yr star the more you earn and it goes by the rake back. for tourneys they have a set amount of point u get for each one.

Silver Star = 50% bonus. Earn 2, get 3 Gold Star = 100% bonus. Earn 2, get 4. Platinum Star = 150% bonus. Earn 2, get 5. Supernova = 250% bonus. Earn 2, get 7. Supernova Elite = 400%. Earn 2, get 10. I didn't have enough points to get Silver Star status, but they upped me to that on January 1. I assume it was a promotion. The 50% bonus has helped. |

I've got about 42,000 FPP's, just spent over 10,000 or so over the last month on tourny entries and some bit and pieces from the FPP store. I'm at Gold star level at the moment but hopefully next month I'll get to platinum. I need to earn 10,000 Vpps which should earn me 20,000 FPP's.
