How many coinflips do you have to win to get to the final table at the WSOP? Is that not the key to winning any big tournaments? Sure you "want" to be 80% to 20% in EVERY Pre-flop situation, but in reality you have to get lucky in coin flips (up to 54%/46%). The Q. is what percent of the time do you think Eastgate or Demidov got into a coinflip AND what percent of those times did the win the coinflip?

There comes a point in time where even if you got all 80/20s you'd be an underdog to win them all. I don't know an exact answer, but it's safe to say a lot, plus they probably won a fair bit of pots where they got their money in an underdog.

Any pro will tell you they that never want to get their money all in pf. Even if you have AA if you dont have the biggest stack you are at risk to be eliminated. With over 6,000 people in that tourney you have to get lucky....playing good isnt' enough. That's whey there hasn't been a pro winner for quite awhile.

I would have to agreee with sonic completely. Im sure to get to the final table you will have to win a few (or many) situation when you are the under dog. Luck plays a huge role in the world of poker. Of course, they also are skilled enough to get to the final table as well.
