| How long would you last with 1G? Just wondering how long some people think they might last. If, they took just $1000 up to $25/$50 tables? Technique would be rampaging-Done it before on FTP minimum $45 deposit and turned it into $1500 in on night. I don't have the link for rampaging thread or I would post it, but I can copy and paste the idea of it if anyone wants it. Think I'm going to try 1G on Stars. I'm guessing it's going to be a 5 to 10 minute sit down. With rampaging you either move up or down depending on your outcome of winning or losing. |

FellKnight: Rampaging - How to build a bankroll quickly by the way that is fellknight's poker blog which by the way if you dont know is very very very good player. its basically the same thing as original posters idea but fellnight does it opposite and starts low limits and works up while poster starts high limits and moves either up or down. I might try this and tape it. Last edited by stormswa : 15th June 2007 at 12:29 AM. |

| By the way storm, a little advice. When you do try the strategy, make sure when you double up and supposed to leave...you do leave. Otherwise, big chance that you will lose it back to the original owner. Especially, if they're sitting with a really big stack. |

| re: How long would you last with 1G? poker this is the defintion of Gambling pretty much, if you start doing this and become succesful in your first few attempts you will think it's the bee knee's and start to throw up larger amounts of money until you come to a point where you find yourself a large chunck of your change down, I'm not being the bearer of bad news or anything but i know from experience that with most things in life the quick fix usually isn't the best for you in the long run, but a controlled version of this could be profitable and is more fun then grinding or SnG's for hours on end. |

you missed the whole points of it, the point isnt to continue to do it. The point is to start with $5 and get to a point and stop. Like the blog says you want to make 1k to play .25/.50 NL you do this to get to that point then stop. Why would you continue to do it if you reached your goal? If you have that little self control you should not be playing to begin with. |

| re: How long would you last with 1G? poker before anyone talks down about this realize you are risking $5 here of a initial investment. Sure if you get to $200 and lose it you lost in reality $200 but only $5 was your initial investment. this is actually a really really cool idea props to fellknight or whoever thought up this little thing. |

Why not keep part of what you've won? Since you've worked it to $1.5K, put 1 grand aside as backup, rampage with the extra $500?? take it up to $1000NL and play some short stack. I've been thinking of this for the longest time. Read about it a while back. Maybe I'll take a percentage of my BR once I hit the $50NL level and try it, just for once. You have to Gambool to win!! |

this is different though because of the set rules of playing each level with certain amount. like with $50 you could just buy into 1/2 this you cant. |

Basically using a short stack, not risking more than 5% of the BR, double up and leave. Except that for rampaging, the idea is to double up, go to the next limit, till you've achieved your ideal BR level. Sounds very risky, even Fellknight got only as far as $700?? |

| Do people always think so literally all the time?. I found on forums in general it always seems to happen, i meant after the downfall that you are going to have eventually playing this style, the next time you decide to start another rampaging session you may get lazy and decide to start from a higher amount each time thus increasing your losses, i guess im just scared ill fall into my old man's trap and be a slave to debt the rest of my life which is a scary thought. Anyway im going to lock myself out of this thread after your reply so ill stop ragging :P hehe |

Oh allright. Yeah I'd be down for this but not just yet (I'm forcing myself to be careful with my BR until I can build it up a bit). |

| Actually, I kept the 1.5k, I have more cash in pocket than I have on any poker site. I'm not going to advertise how much I do have , but usually online I get to a certain point then cash out everything. Kind of a supersticous thing for myself. Anyways, I'd just thought about depositing 1k then trying the system at a higher limit. I would like see video if it is contested. GL to everyone just remember it's not for the faint hearted, you are supposed to wager your whole bankroll. |

in the original version by I think Tao of poker yes but in fellknights version its not. copied from his blog First of all, a disclaimer: The "true" rampage involves putting your entire bankroll on the line at once and attempting this massive parlay. I do not recommend this. Let's say you have only $100 in your bankroll, and normally play $0.05/$0.10 NL. Your goal is $1000 so you can play $0.50/$1 comfortably. How long would it take you to grind up to $1000? A LONG DAMN TIME that's how long! Now, let's say we take a higher risk, but higher reward path to the top? I present to you: The "Diet Coke" of rampages (coined by XaQ Morphy) With this $100, take $5 and sit at a $0.10/$0.25 table. Do not be intimated by the higher stakes. |
