Another Nasty Beat! - Took $25.00 into a NL 10 seat game, second hand I get pocket 55's and with all the beats I've been taking, I decide not to raise in second position before button, I just call. Six people call the big blind of 1.00 Flop comes K 5 10 rainbow.
The bet is now $2.50 and four of the players stay including me. Turn comes 10, the board with two hearts, so flush draw is possible. First player bets $4.00 one player folds, next goes all in for $28.50, so now I have to decide if he has pockets or not, remember it's only the second hand. I have no idea how these guys play, I do a have note on the guy all in, he's a push better and plays anything, so I decide to call with my boat hoping he doesn't have pocket K K or an unlikely 10 10. the cards flip, player one has 99, the other guy is holding AK off suit, it's looking pretty good now, only two outs left for the Ak off suit, river comes K, and I lose it all on another lousy 9% suck out!............... |

, but on real note though, you should'nt stress yourself out over bad luck, I blieve you played the hand just fine, and if anyone were to state you should've raised preflop with 5s, then there crazy, just IMO |

you should have raised it 3 times the big blind pre-flop to avoid anyone playing those junk hands... but if it was me... I would have fold it them... pockets 5s are just not worth it...

I think that limping pre-flop was a good play. But, once you flopped your set, I would have raised after the flop to make anyone drawing to beat you pay very dearly. If Mr. AK reraised you, I would push all-in at that point. Yeah, as the cards fell, if he called you were dead. But, at least you would have gotten you money in good against his top pair, top kicker. Normally, in a ring game, good players won't get a big chunk of their chips in unless they can beat top pair, top kicker...and Mr. Ak should have known that and folded to your big flop raise.

Well i think u played the hand fine just got bad luck so maybe u should try tourneys or SnG, or just try giving it a break for a week then get back on it and see if ur luck has changed. Also, i would probaly sit down at a .50/1.00 table with more than $25. like at least $50
