HOW DO YOU PLAY THIS?

Strangely weak, passive $20/40 (live)

Button:
Respects my play, and wouldn’t get involved w/out something “real.” His aggression level is on the weak side. Only seen him 3-bet pre once, w/ KK.

BB:
Weak, passive, loser. Stuck 3 racks. Won’t get out of line, but aggression level is very weak.

I raise UTG KK
Button CC’s
BB calls

FLOP
Ah, Kc, 8c

BB checks, I bet, Button only calls, BB check/raises.

What’s your line here?
1) Ram-n-jam
2) Call & wait

If Button is on AQ, he won’t call my 3-bet. Middle pr., won’t call either. I think I want him hanging around. If he’s on flush draw, he’s not going anywhere, which may make me want to wait till the Turn to evaluate.

BB has very strong hand. Could have AA (he wouldn’t re-raise BB pre), AK, Ax clubs, set 8’s.

Uhh, what is your stack exactly?

I'd take some time to think about this hand then most likely go all-in and pray no one has AA.

I would just ram and jam.

AQ would call a 3 bet on the flop unless they are super super tight. BB..you have to hope for AK, QQ, or JJ. You should be good and if you lose, not much you can do. I jam here as much as I can.

Assume this is limit, as no bet sizes are given, and never seen normal people play nl that high (although it's 1/10th of HSP). Using the 20 BI rule you should have 120k to play in a $30/$60 NLHE game, pretty much assume it's limit.

From what I know of limit (which isn't much), I'd flat this, mainly because as you said you don't think AQ is calling a 3-bet, the 4th and 5th street bets will be double, and you will appear slightly weaker. Obviously this seems to be all read dependent. If I were in your place I'd be betting just because I suck at limit and know I have the best hand most likely so I just want to get as much money in as possible. In NL, the entire play would be determined by stack sizes (along with the reads). Hopefully FP will stop by and give you some advice.

If this is limit then why would "ram and jam" be an option? :\

Assuming it just means 3-bet, call capping 4-bet if made, basically just bet/raise whenever he can on all streets.

Re-reading the hand I now agree with the limit concept.

Since he is also saying he won't be able to bluff him off of a flush draw, a very common thing in limit, it would all just make sense.

Nice catch zach :P

Because of those 2 clubs on the board, I don't want to let AK catch up, JAM IT!

Caveat. I would undoubtedly find BB with AA. I've developed quite a knack for it lately!

After some more replies, I'll play the rest of the hand... pretty crazy!

Just get in as many bets as you can. You're 3-way with a set on an action board. Raise for value and to charge draws.

I'm willing to cap the flop and turn. Re-evaluate on river.

Get in as much money as you can unless/until the last flush card comes, then check and call. If BB has AA, oh well.

I call, raise/raise blank turn. Make draw pay for worse odds and get more bigbets from crushed hands.

ME TOO! I knew for fact BB going nowhere, no matter what... and Button has more hands that he's drawing almost dead with VS. flush draw. If he is on fl. drw., charging him on turn will get more money in vs. blowing him off hand on flop!

OK, HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED: The rest of hand plays itself, but the action was awesome!

FLOP A,Kc,8c

BB Checks, I bet, Butt. calls, BB raises... I decide to... smooth call.

Button now RE-RAISES!!! BB caps, I call.

TURN {A,Kc,8c} Qs

BINGO CARD FOR ME!!!!! That hit someone! No one has J10c... I'm still good, unless BB has AA.

BB leads, I raise, Button caps!!!! All call.

RIVER {A,Kc,8c,Qs} 3h

BB checks (yeeesss!! Definitely not AA now),
I bet,
Button raises (Definitely doesn't have AA... prob. AK,AQ... wouldn't CC pre. w/ J10c)
BB calls
I 3bet... Button pukes all over the table! Both make crying calls, knowing they spewed!

BB: AQ clubs
Button: AK
Me: scoop huge pot

Wow, didn't think you'd be able to cap all the way. Pretty close, nice pot.
