for example if i flop a set on a 3c 6c 9c board, ill call the dudes flush even though i know im behind.....ill have QQ preflop and someone will push me all in and i know he has KK or AA but yet i still call only to get busted. im looking to completely re evaluate my game over this next month. im going to read harrington on holdem (all 3 books) seeing as i like to play sit n goes a ton. im also gonna read the secrets of sit n goes by phil shaw and lastly will read colin mushmans sit n go strategy book. than hopefully around the first week of july ill make a $200 deposit on pokerstars and another $200 deposit on tilt hoping to never deposit ever again following proper BRM that i will read up and study as well throughout the next month. the month of JUNE is STUDY STUDY STUDY time for me personally. i need to reallly understand when i am beat an to stop giving away my money and paying people off when they have me dominated. lastly i will STOP PLAYING AQ!!!!!!! only gets me into trouble |

I think I lose a bit calling with low suited cards when in early position. Often I get raised and have to bail when someone raises. Or, I get to see the flop cheap but have to bail when nothing hits. This is just a few chips at the time but over the course of a tournament it probably adds up. I'm often trying to find the balance between playing tight and loosening up a bit as it gets later in the tournament and the blinds make it harder to wait for a premium hand. Well ... that and not falling in love with a hand and realizing I've been out flopped or out drawn ....

I lose most of my money when I don't quit when I knew I shouldve. Like after winning a few when I should go to bed, I end up playing a couple more tired and losing what I just won. Also, lose most of it if I've had too much to drink and decide to play. But, I don't think that is what you are talking about. I lose a lot of chips when I decide not to fold a mediocre hand and it hits, only to be out drawn, or to have been way behind the whole time.

HMmmm ... since I have never deposited on any poker site and have BR's on the sites I do play on, can't say I've really 'lost' anything due to one single cause. What I do find is that I lose some 'hands' for 2 reasons ... 1) making a mistake in a specific situation - and hopefully learning from it, and 2) losing a hand in the odds percentage that I 'SHOULD' lose. My AA 'WILL' take a beating ... sometimes. But if you're making good decisions, your loses will be small and your mistakes very identifiable.

Generally, I feel there are two ways to lose money. The first one is by making mistakes (and there are many ways), but you have to be able to determine when a mistake has been made in a certain situation and recognize when the situation comes up again, thereby cutting down your losses or increasing your winnings. When I first started playing, I was playing too many hands and was getting nowhere - the more hands you play, the higher the possibility of making mistakes. The second one is by suckouts. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about this, unless you have made a mistake by betting incorrectly. This generates whining about so-called bad beats, which should simply be ignored. Forget them and get on with the next game.

Not being able to get up after losing several SnG's in a row...which leads to tilt, so instead of losing 2-3 SnG's I go on a slide of 10 in row. The really bad thing is that I keep my level of play consistent, it's just taking beat after beat after beat.....getting your money in good and getting sucked out tourney after tourney after tourney. Wondering when is it going to stop.
