How do you beat the suckouts at micro stakes?seriously though?

ive been playing all year at the micro levels.i started in januaray and practised with play chips and read proper strategies etc I know how to play the game. I started at micro cash and the variance was completely out of this world the deposit bonus kept me even. i switched to sngs nd got my bankroll eventually up to 130$ with the help of a bonus and then it dropped to 80 then i switched to cash 2nl again.then cash limit nd the suck outs r insane now its at $50 where i am playing 1$ sngs again.

wtf the variance is diabolical i actually do think i run the worst in the history of poker. I vary rarely get my money all in bad or outplayed. Any time im ahead nd get it in leaving them 3 outers r less they hit no matter what.

Today ive had kk AA 4 times cracked which is nothing compared to what ive already had, AA currently there now in the last three of a sng to q3.any time im in a sng heads up or last 3 they suck out on me several times to win and i get 3rd or 2nd its impossible. some dick sucked out on me 5 times yesterday to win it from me.

Just there now in the same sng I went allin with aks nd got called with A7 3handed and he hit 7 on the flop.its total balls.how the **** can I win when this happens to me every single game nd practically every hand I play?

ive started playing Mtt nd seem to be doing fine at them all the donks go out quickly im just trying to hit big in those to get a bigger roll and to play more challenging games.

Two words: selective recall.

You're not as good as you think you are. That might be harsh but it's also true. If your opponents really are getting their money in with the worst hand as often as you claim then you should be happy, regardless of the outcome.

Move up to where they respect your raises

Seriously though I'd play some of the limit games instead.

no its not selective recall im an honest player and I am a decent player If i make a mistake I learn from it fast. Like I said im very rarerly outplayed and am happy with how often I am getting my money in but its been a complete joke it never holds up.obv It has held up some of the time but no where near enough to compensate for the times it hasnt.

I'll ask one question - what is your sample size? How many cash game hands and how many SnGs are we talking about here?

If you've only got a small sample then it's possible you're just running bad. If it's a big sample then sorry, there's no way around this - you're suffering from selective recall and you've got leaks that you're ignoring.

No its not that they arent respecting them im not trying to bluff I want them to call me with the worst of it. It just never holds up enough.i tried limit at the lowest level nd lost about 10$ in a day multitabling due to ppl hitting set over my set quads a high flush over my k high flushes.

The variance in Limit Holdem is better. Try to play sparingly in microstakes.

Like oz said, if you really are getting your money in good and you are using sound strategy in sngs and mtts you will come out ahead in the long run.

If youre consistantly losing perhaps you should either play limit where the variance is lo or play your no limit a little tighter and try and keep the pots small until you know you got the best hand. At mirco stakes you cant really count on anyone folding even though they should of...

I think that it is very important to know the style of play of others. sometimes you have to run the chasers away with a super large raise...sometimes they call....smiles...no guarantees...but you have a better chance of knowing the table...good luck

General note: telling someone to play limit when they don't know how to play limit is Horrible Advice.

The fact that they'll lose money more slowly (which is what you're all really saying when you say "lower variance") doesn't change this fact.

I dont have any data because i dont no of any free stat trackers. However I have recently started using poker dominater to track things which i found very good. It isnt selective recall because as i said my bankroll was moving up at times throuhout the year.

I play a tight aggressive game and dont bluff at the micro limits except c bets I am def not missing out on any major flaws. The explanation I have is the fact that I switched games as soon as i hit bad variance which wasnt long and the sample sizes then would have been small rather than sticking to one game in particular and outlasting them. im playing 1$ sngs and have recorded them all i will play 1k nd see what the stats are.

playing with play chips is like playing with infants who toss chips around...does nothing to help improve your game

yea.i observe myself play and watch over my hand histories and constantly make sure i made the correct play.it is micro stakes poker and im playing simple abc poker. I only stick to hands I should be playing etc and play them aggressively.I just checked how many sngs ive played recently i played 34 nd although ive had several suckouts on each one im only down one buyin which is pretty good i think.

your rite it is and i was only doing it learn starting hands etc and I also deposited a small amount of money to get a feel for it. I dont have a sample size because ive been playing different games nd didnt no of any tracking software I could use

This is true but when I want to make sure that it will take me 3 hours to lose on tilt vs 15 minutes on tilt I always play LO8

So out of 34 SNG's you're down 1 BI?? Hardly cause for major concern - heck I'm break even over the past 150 SNG's or so but I know I'm improving and over time am eliminating some leaks from my game.

Tbh it sounds like you're just going through some variance and as an earlier poster said some selective memory. If you feel like you're playing solid poker then stick with it - look back over some of the losses you've taken and see if you had your money in good or not. If you made the right play then don't worry about it - variance will come back to help you at some point even if it doesn't feel like it at the moment.

Better solution - just don't play when you're on tilt.

I found that the best cure for tilt is experience and confidence in your game. It took me about 90,000 hands to realize that I could go through a bad stretch where my big pairs didn't hold up and I seemed to lose every coinflip and that with time all wounds would be healed and as long as I stuck to the style that worked my profits would return. Last month I went through a stretch where I lost 13 buy-ins in a week but thanks to some encouragement from Cc'ers I stayed the course and have made a rebound. Now when my Aces get cracked or I lose KK to Ace Rag or set over set or villain rivers a Full House when I hold the nut flush I just shrug and move on. As long as you believe in Expected Value and that the results of an indivisual hand don't matter but that making correct decisions does then tilt will melt away. But this does not happen over night, it takes ALOT of Poker to get to that point.

Your gonna rember them suck outs and bad beats more often then your wins with pokcet aces or kings its a good chance you havent lost with them as often as you think. All you can really do is keep getting your money in with the best hands caculate your hand and pot odds play the right cards in the right position You want that guy calling all ins with Q3 at your table he will become a ATM machine b4 long and OzExorcist is right if your on tilt sit out a few hands far as your AK play it is the 4th best hand in poker if suited and 5th if off suit but a pair of 2s still can beat AK if you cant hit a all in preflop call with them is a tourney move not a cash table move

Define 'getting sucked out on'. Guess what - 80/20 shots sometimes (1 in 5 over the long term actually) go the way of the 20% guy! Go figure.... . Look it strikes me that your game will improve if you accept that suckouts happen - and be honest are you saying that you never ever ever suck out on someone else? - but keep looking to the long term. If you're a winning player then celebrate that fact.

Saying that you'd win every one if you didn't get sucked out on is ridiculous. That's like saying that if the other 8 players at the table didn't have cards then you'd win every game. It's a game of variance - live with it.

I recently fell into a bad "stretch" where my kings have been getting cracked, and horrible suck outs on some final tables left me 5th or 6th instead of 1st or 2nd. I got really discouraged and pissed off. Then I started playing Matrix tournaments. That's pretty much all I did today.

I was playing in one, and this broad sucks out on me on one table. I made it my mission to make sure she didn't cash in the other 3 tables. Sure enough, she didn't, and I doubled my money.

Try some Matrix tournaments. If you're really as good in poker as you think you are, you will definitely win in those.

Was just here bro, been on a bad run all this week, i went bust but i was very lucky to have recied a nice gift from a friend for xmas of 30$ sooooo yea i know and feel ur pain, sadly these bad runs happen.
