How do you all play your home games in this situation?

A recent post by WV where he explained that you are not compelled to reveal your hand in an all-in showdown, made me wonder how other people play this situation in a home game.

If there are still cards to come, does anyone keep their hand hidden or do you all do the TV thing and turn the hands face up so that everyone can enjoy the tension of the turn and river card, as I do (and most online sites)?

In the home games I play, we flip our cards up when we go all in pre flop.

I tend to flip them in home games. In a casino I usually keep them to myself.

Main thing is to have the rules, especially, special to your home game rules, explained in advance.

The beauty of a home game is you can do whatever the hell you want.

FWIW, the standard practice is that you have to flip your hand up in a tournament, but you don't in a cash game.

I just flip them over all the time i really couldn't care what happens happens.

We always flip them over, it seems to be the standard thing to do, and makes it more fun for the 2 people involved, as well as the others who aren't in the hand.
I believe you're required to do it @ the WSOP, so as OzEx said, you're required to in tournaments but apparantly not in cash games

At the home games I play we always flip the hole cards over in an all in situation. It brings excitement for the whole table to watch.

True Ring (cash) games don't require all-in players to reveal their hands unless they choose to. Winning hands must be tabled to receive any portion of a pot however.

Tournament players must table hands before additional cards are brought by the dealer in all-in situations.

If you dont flip them over, how do you know who wins..

As someone mentioned above, to win any portion of the pot you have to show your cards - so at least one player has to show their hand. In a cash game, if one player shows and another doesn't have a good enough hand to beat them, they'll often just muck their cards without showing so as not to give any additional information away.

I never flip them i think its bad luck. and i dont make change off my stack for people, also bad luck.

Flipping over the cards in home games definitely makes it exciting when you are all in before the river. But, I would say in cash games this wouldn't happen because of not wanting to give information away to your opponents. This is why hands aren't flipped over on High Stakes Poker, usually the winner is the only one to show cards there.

tournaments have different rules than cash games so that is why when your watching a tournament on TV you will see the cards exposed if all-in before the river.
in cash games players are not forced to expose their cards.

i don't play many home games but i would use the same rules.
