How to do avatar?

Could someone do a quick step-by-step guide on how I could put a picture/avatar next to my name?

1. Click on "User CP" up top left above the Post Reply button.
2. On left side panel in User CP in Settings and Options click on "Edit Avatar".
3. Upload pic from computer and save.

in this forum its possible, but sometimes in other places they request a url destination to upload the image. How can you do that?

Thanks for the response Jack. Unfortunately it won't accept my .bmp image. :-( Never mind.

If you find the image on the internet, you can usually do right-click --> copy image location. If it's on your computer, you use a site like imageshack to host it.

My guess is the problem is that your image is a bitmap. While bitmaps should be okay, they tend to be 253246265243MB in size. Try editing your .bmp image in MS Paint and "Save As" a .jpg, then use it. Should work with no issues then (as long as you try to upload the .jpg one).
