Isildur is a chap who popped up on Full Tilt some months ago now and started ripping apart some of the top pro's on PLO and then not long after lost it all. There's was a bit of a buzz about it, naturally and also because no one knew who he was and he never came out, although many believe him to be a Swedish chap called, I think Victor Blom?

AFAIK, Isildur1 was crushing a number of Euro sites (iPoker, Prima, Boss, etc) for quite a while, then moved his bankroll to Full Tilt. As atlanta said, he was also staked by TonyG off and on as well. The two had a falling out after Isildur agree to play in the Party Poker televised cash game staked by TonyG earlier this year and then backed out at the last second. Don't believe stories of his turning $2k into $1m in 2 weeks or whatever. It's not the case. That said, he was certainly able to make $4m turn into 0 in just a few weeks at the hands of a number of FT Red Pros, primarily Brian Hastings and Brian Townsend if I recall correctly.

I agree he might be pro, but I'm guessing he must get very lucky especially to of built his roll the way he plays completely goes against how poker is supposed to be play. He'd go all-in with a high card or one pair on a dangerous board lol. Don't think I'v seen him fold much haha and as for pot odds and outs, well that's a new kettle of fish. Don't get me wrong though, I still admire what he has achieved.

'goes against how poker is supposed to be play' The sharing of hand histories is particularly distasteful and should of resulted in far more severe punishments. |

Ranny : I agree 100% there with that..all I'm pointing out is that everything you read/learn about poker and are "taught" on forums like this is the total opposite of how it should be played. Some would say Isidurs play is donkey play and the sort of hands he raises/calls with would be frowned upon and when people say that you have to play tight let the donkeys give you their money etc isn't much different from his play.
