| How can I tell If im making good profit ($) per amount of hands on a certain stake in NL holdem. I made $36 in 1800 hands on 0.01/0.02NL and a little bit of 0.02/0.04NL, would that be really good, bad, or average. And what are some formulas I could use to tell how good it really is compared to a very good player. |

| re: How can I tell poker Yes, that would be a very good winrate...but thats a tiny sample size. Winrates are usually defined by BB/100* or $/hr. BB/100 can be very high at 2nl but should plummet as you move up microstakes as the lowest limits are so easy, while 2-3BB/100 may be very good at lowstakes. BB= big bets, twice the big blind (bb) Last edited by D'wilius : 8th September 2009 at 4:17 AM. |

| Its allways good to profit but if you think about it you are grinding real hard becouse, 1800 hands and only with profit of $36 that is like 2 cents a hand but that is better then losing. So if you ask me its just average, thats my opinion, My guess would be to losen up a little bit it sounds like you are a little to tight, ROCK, Or move uip in stakes like $1 $2 and play the same and then your profit will be around two dollars a hand instead of two cents a hand and then the profits will be much bigger.and then just keep gooing up in levels and b4 you know it profits will be huge. |

b) you have no idea if he is tight or loose from the information given c) winning over a tiny sample at micro does not equate to winning at $1/$2 nlhe, rofl. d) winning at 50BB/100 is nowhere near possible at 200NL. e) recommending someone skip from 2nl to 200nl is horrible advice. Oh wow... This is the worst advice I've seen for a new player in a long long time. I mean... just... wow. This is a joke, right? |

I do agree that once a player has a handle on the game, and has the bankroll to support it, they should move out of the micros as soon as possible due to the freeroll mentality at those stakes. But you don't do it based on simply a hand count, and a small one at that. |

He's up $36 or whatever. Which is awesome for 2nl, however I doubt that $36 was enough of a boost to his BR to move to 5nl. You should have an absolute minimum of 20 buyins for whatever level you play. Op, you are doing great, keep it up man!!! |
