How about online WSOP event?

With the boom of online poker when do you think an event somewhat like the main event will take place, or will it ever? With last years 8000 and some people playing, it has to be hard for casino's to host these events. Would people trust online poker enough for something like this. I just thought i would throw that out there and see what u all had to say about it. thx

Personally I don't think it will have as much prize money online and the mortar tournaments do. Beside look at all the marketing money and media attention that WSOP gets. TV / Cable coverage you know that is hard to beat from a business stand point

there is a certain aura live that cannot be replaced. while i enjoyed playing in the WCOOP (especially the cashing part of it..) i would much rather play a live tourney.

WCOOP ME last year had a prize pool of about 6 million and a first place prize of 1.1 milliion which is no small chunk of change and it will only grow year on year as more money floods into Stars from the other site who dropped americans

There was an $800 buy in event at this years Aussie Millions that was conducted solely on the Poker Pro tables (live, but using computers built into the table). So I guess anything is possible.
