| Home game chip counts For anyone here who plays in a home game freezeout tourney, how many chips do you usually provide for each person, and what chip denominations do you use? We have a regular game here with some friends, with a $10 buyin, where second place gets their buyin back and first takes the prize. We get anywhere from 4 to 8 players per night, so it's just a few friends playing cards for fairly small stakes. We start blinds at 5/10, and have chip denominations of 5, 10, 25, and 100. Each player ends up getting something around 1500 to 2500 starting chips, since we usually just hand out all the clay chips we have evenly. There are no rebuys, so no worry about needing more. Lately we've found that the game seems to stretch on a little too long, so I'm curious what other players have found works for them. Thanks! |

| First off, you really don't need both a 5 and 10 chip. You can get a pretty accurate estimate on how long a tourney will last based on starting stacks and blind structure. Check out http://www.homepokertourney.com for the details as well as some decent tournament structures. |
