| Hold em or fold em? Ok this is the 2nd hand of a MTT. I am dealt 66 in BB, with three limpers. The flop is 6c,9c,10s I lead out and bet, get raised and reraised. In this position would you come over the top or call? I didnt think anyone had a higher set because at the low limit people tend to push hard preflop with middle PPs. I ended up calling, and the 3s comes on the turn. I lead out with a bet, get called by one player, then get reraised for half my stack by another. I think the smooth caller may have a flush draw, but the raiser may have A10 or K10, something along those lines. So i am faced whether to fold, call, or all in. I end up pushing all in to maybe push out a flush draw and think my set is good at the moment. I get called by both players. The smooth caller ended up having 78, the nuts, and the other guy had K10 and was drawing dead. I didnt fill up and i was out. So what could i have done to avoid this early exit? |

Also I think betting out is probably good too because bad players will call with any straight draw or pair and he doesn't want to give them a chance for a free card if it checks around. |

| Sometimes I get leary when I get a set,and there is a straight on the board. People tend to like to call with such cards as 7/8 to see a flop. "you can thank dwan and zigmund for that".lol j/k. Also the flush draw out there was scary as well. Just think I would let them bet me off the pot for now, till I had more information abou tthere playing style. |

| i read before i believe its from "professional no-limit hold'em vol.1". don't ask yourself "am i ahead of his range?" but "what range of hands would be willing to get all in here? and am i ahead of that range?" i really think here that although a higher set is unlikely a made straight is really likely given the action. IMO i flush draw or draw would be more likely to raise all in. so after the flop betting i think you could try to slow down and hope for a paired board. |
