High Stakes Poker renewed for Season V

According to 2+2's PokerCast, High Stakes Poker has been renewed for a 5th season on GSN!!!
There is also an interview with Lyle Berman @ Two Plus Two Pokercast Browsing.

Along with the move of the WPT to FSN and this great news about another season of HSP, these are great days for the poker world!

Great news indeed. I love that show and probably one of the better poker shows around.

I know they've banned prop bets, but it wouldn't bother me too much if they told/showed us the bets so we could keep up with them as well. Heck, I've learned a lot about cash games watching this (insurance, 'running it', chop pots, straddles...), prop bets may just be more ideas for home games in the future if we could just see them.

OK OK, I'll be honest, I could care less what the action is as long as they bring back those cocktail waitresses

I love High Stakes Poker, but it's hard to find the time to watch all the good poker on TV.

Excellent news. Some come close, but HSP is the best poker show ever put on TV.

So glad the prop bets are gonna be gone. Might be alright if the viewers knew what they were, but since we dont... Half the conversation is about this so either there will be more silence (doubt it), or we will here some intersting stories, bad beats, monster hands etc. Look forward to the new season.

That's the sweetest news ever feels like a weight lifted off my shoulders for some reason...wonder who will show up at the table this year?? It'd be interesting to see them bring in some of the young internet pros..

WOW I am extremely glad to hear this because I read on another forum that the show was not picked up and there would not be a season 5. Does anyone know when or where a schedule will be available?

best hand played on there was when gus flopped a set of fives and negreanu flopped a set of sixes , and then gus turned the case five couldnt believe it. He took daniel for a lot of money on the river

That is great news! Love the show. But I have no desire to see internet players on there. The ones they have had on the show in the past have been about as interesting as wall board. Keep Farha on it and a bunch of other good characters and it will continue to draw well. Thanks for the info.

High Stakes Poker is a great show - but the super high stakes shows they had in last year's season was great - $500k buy-in. Was dying to see Jamie Gold lose everything!
