High Stakes Poker!

Do any of you guys watch High Stakes Poker on GSN? They just started posting new podcasts on itunes for the third season....this show is so much more fun to watch than the tournaments.

it is fun to watch for real money each hand, but the production value of the show is just terrible. It just looks cheap and corny. It's fascinating to me how one poker program (ESPN) can be so much more exciting than another (High Stakes Poker) through simple style of editing.

I love HSP, its really cool seeing that much money on the table. I like that the production is low key, it focuses on the personalities of the players and the game. Thats what I find exciting anyway..

I agree, i think the production is part of the charm. Its exciting to see these guys make moves with their own cash. Check out the link to these podcasts. they even have clips from last season:

The last one I saw is where Nagreanu went to the booth. It was pretty good listening to him talk about the people at the table while he's able to see their hole cards.

I only have seen a couple episodes from the first season (not even sure how many season it's been on) but I like it. I would love to have the money to sit with some of the amateurs they have.

The whole of seasons 1 and 2 are on YouTube, and it looks like some of Season 3 are there too. I love HSP.

I like watching HSP also except I'm not a fan of Gabe Kaplan and AJ Benza . Maybe I'm just used to the guys on Espn who I enjoy listening to. I think HSP could do with out announcers and just keep the table chatter which is one of the best parts of the show.

I wonder how much Jamie Gold is up or down? Some of his moves looked like some good bulffs.. then most the time It is just pure suicide...

They should let mike announce for one episode...he's obnoxious to the point where he is sometimes pretty funny.

I agree with joosebuck, Gabe Kaplan is great.

One question - What is GSN?

Is it a TV station, website or what. If it's a site for watching poker videos online has anyone got the link.

Much obliged (and ignorant lol)

I like to watch too. Jamie Gold can't talk these guys into either calling or not like he did in the WSOP. It's nice to see something where they play poker and it's not a bunch of donks getting lucky.
