Hesh's Poker Story Part 1 - The need to lose

Well, after some average play and poor bankroll management I was down to my last $35 at noblepkoker (my peak was about $180). So of course I decide to take the whole amount into a $1/$2 No Limit game. Why? because I was being reckless.

After making a number of foolish pre-flop calls I have $26 left in front of me. After saying to myself "Well, if it's gone, then it's gone." I proceed to putting my entire stak in the middle, pre-flop, with QJ suited (Hearts). I get two callers, both who had raised or called before my all in.

When the flop comes down 10-6-2 with 2 clubs. I'm thinking i'm likely dead. Only a J or Q will save me and that's if they aren't clubs and the other guys didn't hit their cards. The two remaining players push another $11-$15 dollars in the middle. (Ya, I'm in serious trouble)

The turn is YAY a Queen, but it's a club, and brings the possible flush. And when the players again bet and call $20, I KNOW I'm dead in the water.

The river is a brick. Not a club, and low. That's all I remember. And to my surprise, both players show weakness and check it down. (What the?)

Player 1 shows pocket pair of 7's. Player 2 shows Ace high (the ace of clubs with an offsuit kicker).

I TAKE $70 DOWN with my pair of Q's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say I haven't played a hand since. I think I need a break, that attitude of "If I go bust, then I go bust" is scary, and I am very lucky to have anything left in my account.

in fact I could write a book on bad play, still as long as you learn from it then thats what matters

Actually had that attitude the other night hesh, I brang in 20$ and I'am playing omaha, I don't know what made me think I was so lucky but cards get delt I hold ka and some other cards. Flop comes "AkA" Holy SMokes flopped a boat. I shouldn't be saying this out loud but I love to trap, gets me in trouble at times but also pays off, ok so I have a boat. I check, table checks, turn a 6. Table starts to check player before dealer calls all in. Big stack, like 50 or so, I toss my 20 in I mean come on Fullboat on the flop and a grand one at that, so all in.... Me AK them Pkt 6's

And what the heck comes on the river................. So I'am down to my last 20 and I know what you mean about that feeling, it hit me and so big stack raises me I guess seeing if he could score more money I called. Don't remember what all came but 10j came up, So big stack pushed all in an why I called I don't know I just did.

STRAIGHT!! Haha I pulled a hit and run, I had too, I got back up and didn't feel like getting knocked down again. Maybe we could write a story together? heh

Ahhh and to make it clear he caught quad 6's ( A K A 66 ) Sucked!

Ya Payout, we could write quite the story. I've also been on the other side of that and put my last $20 in and got busted. Then I'm angry with myself for weeks.

Been there hesh, made a stupid STUPID attempt to play while I was drunk WHY ON EARTH I DID IT please don't ask... but I lost 150$'s And yes I cried about it was beyound angry at myself and banned myself from playing poker for like 2 weeks. And I knew not do to it. I play with a private league I'am in and sometimes they grab a keg for a big poker game when we have them and the times I got drunk I was out QUICK but if I stayed sober I finished 2nd or 1st. Still I guess it's one of those things where you live and learn.
