HELP! Oh no.

Heres the story....

Deposited $200 at Fulltilt.

Playing $0.50/$1 NL and a little bit of $1/$2 I got up to around $900.

Cashed out my initial deposit so that I was playing with just my profits.

Had a bit of a downswing with the $700 i had left going down to $400. Then built it back up and have been sitting around $600 for a few days.

Last night I logged in to play, focused after reading some really good articles etc.

Little did I know that by the time I logged out i would have only $100 left!!!!!

OMG what happened?

I don't know if I was playing bad or getting sucked out or what its all just a blur.

I remember being beaten by sets about three times over my AA, KK's and also my fullhouse being cracked by quads but did I really play that bad to let this happen or is this normal??

Ive never lost this many buyins or dollars. I thought maybe i am playing at too higher stakes. Possible. But I feel really comforatble at $0.5/$1 NL and have been making some really good progress.

Can downsings and bad sessions be this bad? Should I have quit the night after losing say 2-3 buyins? (I buy in for half everytime).

Was I overvaluing my overpair and two pairs etc? That probably can't be answered without hand histories etc but geeeeez, feeling like its going to be a hard road getting back up to where i was.....

Should i continue playing the same stakes? I feeling like just putting my last $100 on a $1/$2 table and trying to double up but thats not the right thing to do is it?

Its hard seeing a way back up thats all. I just have to convince myelf that things don't happen overnight but they do happen ...

Was alcohol involved?

You might be addicted. When you are addicted to gambling / poker you usually lose a lot of money and then don't even remember.

I know people who go to casinos with $300, lose all $300, then don't remember how they lost it....

Or as jazz said, alcohol.

also, i think playing 1/2 dollars is a pretty high limit cash game for 200 bucks

You buy-in for half each time or $50 and you failed to stop before you'd brought in 12 times!!! POOR (non-existent actually) BRM! You shouldn't have been sitting at those tables to begin with let alone when you were losing everything. Next time maybe come ask for advice in the middle of giving your $$ away so someone can stop you (or at least take advantage of the situation).

I'm pretty sure that your bankroll should be about ~$2000 if you want to be properly rolled to play at .5/1 limits. With your $200 deposit you should have been playing .05/.10 limits if you were applying proper bankroll management.

Anyone is going to go through some downswings but since you were playing so far above your bankroll you are pretty much out of money now.

practise BRM u will have more left after a bad downswing but u wont win as much on an upswing but ur money would last ALOT llllllonnnngeeerrr

Under "Options" at the bottom is "Hand History" if you had previously hit the check box, your computer will have saved them and you can review your hands. It looks too me you were playing a little out of your range like the others have mentioned, came along a couple bad beats and now your below the 200 you deposited with. You can also check "login history" under the "Requests" tab, to make sure no one else played when you were asleep or logged in from a different location, someone who maybe hacked you and got your password, etc... It will show what IP address logged into your account at any given time. Good Luck

Wow. I never knew this was an option. However, it won't necessarily tell you much. Out of my last 20 logins, there is only one duplicate IP address and all 20 were me from the same computer.

Its called variance and part of the game.......
