i would show both cards not not worry about it you won the hand so whats the difference now if you bet the guy out of the pot than its up to you if you wish to show 1 card both cards or no cards but having a str8 draw you had the right to stay in the hand anyways not like you didnt belong in the hand at all

re: Help Needed With This Poker Rule most casinos will make you show both hole cards ive seen a situation where the same thing happened where the guy made a str8 with 4 cards on the board and he showed the one card that gave him his str8 and mucked the other one the dealer called it a dead hand rewarded the pot to the other guy.........and this was at harrah's here in st.louis im not certain but i think all casinos are like this

Every card room, every casino, every poker site is different. Check the rules of the house before playing to ensure you know what you can and cannot do.

It's not a question of various rooms/sites. Poker has the rule show both to win. If you want to win the pot, you must show both cards. If you don't want to win the pot you can show one card and muck. But to get the pot, you MUST SHOW BOTH CARDS.

BTW... the card has to actually hit the muck pile to be technically mucked. If you just lay the other card face down on the table, the dealer, or another player, should ask you to reveal. But, in a fast game the dealer may absentmindedly pull your face down card into the muck, at which point, your hand is dead. --- |

re: Help Needed With This Poker Rule I have never seen it being acceptable to show one card and win the pot, in 30+ years of poker, anywhere. Not sure what the poker dealer reference bible is these days, but it should be in there..
