hear this one

Was playing in 24 dollar token frenzy on FTP yesterday....costs 6.50 to enter and you recieve a 24+2 token if you win......

Were about 240 people top 60 get a token.

We are down to about 68 and the short stack asks us to fold when it gets to him.

I had about 6k chips, and was considering being nice until someone else at the table said..."Wonka fold you prick".....short stack had put himself all in by this time....so I called and won.

My thinking is that...if EVERYONE at EVERY table does this (and I know similar things happen all the time) we could never end the game.

PLAY TO WIN!, Play to knock people out, screw everyone else. Seriously, I'm not trying to sound mean, but you don't play poker to help poeple or save the world. You're in it for yourself and that's how it should be. Get yourself closer to the token.

Unless you're helping people on this forum of course , then help away.

LOL same game...break came about 3 hands after I put the short stack out.

Guy who called med a prick had about 500 more chips than I did....i had a q and flopped an a q.....went all in on him with 62 or 63 left......beat him....I was VERY VERY happy.....on FTP made my avatar smile and everything....

Next hand he was blinded all in......and tripled up just as the 61st guy was put out.

By the sound of things though, some of the players at the table were trying to keep another player in the tourney.

You were absolutely right. Full Tilt`s rules say:

"Soft playing or chip dumping is not allowed. Any unethical play may result in the suspension or termination of the offender's account. "

Wonka! Not sure if you'll get this post, but wanted to let you know I'm here and will try to be active, inspired by you from last night's FT freeroll. I made a couple other posts.

Dude, don't ever worry what other people say or think. That's ridiculous. Just look out for yourself. I would just question one thing. I think you said you were short stacked near the cut off. You have to decide if making a move there was good. The only goal in those tourneys is to get your ticket. If you check out the players, sometimes it's better to just sit and wait. A lot of players (including myself) near the bubble have/will let the timer go down every single time, hoping those low stacks at other tables might lose. Sure, it's kind of lame, but it is just another strategy to deploy. To repeat, the only goal is to get the ticket.

Anyway, see you out there.

Hey Puako nice to see you around!!!

Wow, way to ressurect a post.

I know you SHOULD just wait, but, I play fairly tight as it is....

We actually had this discussion at a poker table the other day. I was all in in a freeroll two people were in with me. One of my opponents bet on the flop, the other guy folded and then gave the guy who bet on the flop a bunch of crap about betting because the object is to put me out, NOT to get the most chips for the final table.

I won the hand this guy kept going, and I said that what he's talking about could be considered soft playing and it is unethical at best, against the rules at worst.

i think its one thing to ask the table to play slow for him, but its a whole other thing to ask the table to fold around to him to take the blinds.

if someone asks to play slow, ill generally do it, but ill just do it till it says "you have 15 secs to act!" and then ill make my move, i wont wait till my whole thing is out.

While I would never condemn the short stack for waiting until the timer runs out.....it's when other people do it at the table who have no worries about going out that bugs me.

Like I said in an earlier post....if EVERYONE did that they're screwing with blind progression and just making the game take longer than it should.

I don't mind playing slowly if it's a chick and she has a hot profile pic. You never know when you may get the chance to play live with some of these people.

You made the right play by playing poker, as said above, full tilt has a rule on no soft playing or chip dumping. Nice work on showing the real prick up
