Heading Off To Play Live Tourney

I'm heading out to play another live tourney - Got 3rd in the last one out of 50+ people. What a blast. I suggest you all find one if you can. Nothing like it.

HI All - Well, I finished 4th - and was seated next to an obnoxious women who yelled on her cell phone while playing and eating - and told me how to deal, how to put up my blinds, who won, who's turn it was to bet, and almost everything else she could think of. A real pain in the @ss and big mouth. I was thrilled when she busted out. She even was telling me how many chips I had when we exchanged chips! LOL I felt like smacking her off her chair! LOL You sure run into strange people.

There was another guy on Monday when we played that actually cheated!!! Jim and I didn't even know it until it hit us on Tuesday. Pretty sad huh?

But if was fun for us - imagine how good we would have done if the night was perfect!

Hi - Thanks. I don't know how many ... LOL ... I forgot to see how many tables.

First he tried to steal a pot instead of splitting it. We did catch that. But then he was setting up side pots and the deal was so fast no one really checked it mainly because we were new to the group - and we realized he was giving himself more in the side pot than he should (he went all in). Then in this group, when someone busts out - and was on the small blind you have to add blinds in. Well instead of him adding his blind in, he casually said lets have the guy that just busted out deal ... by doing that, he didn't have to add in anymore blinds. I don't know if I explained that right, but he got out of putting up blinds. Then when the person to my right went out, I was required to put up additional blinds. I did what they said, but didn't understand it because when he was there no one did that - then I read the group rules - then I knew this guy cheated. He was short stacked and would have gone out on the blinds if he had to put up additional blinds.

So moral of the story - watch the table closely. Like there isn't enough to think about. LOL

Nope rob, I wasn't the fat, unshaven, smelly guy. I was the attractive, unshaven, crossdresser in the purple sequined evening gown with the Ace of spades in sequins on the front.

Hi jmj69 - Thanks! Is this your first tourney you set up? If not, is it pretty easy? I'd love to have one in my home. Fifty-six people is alot. The one I was in with 50+ was at an eating establishment took just over 3 hours. We all dealt ourselves until the final table then the tourney manager took over. Lots of fun.

Hey Michele, We (couple of buddies and I) have had 6 larger tourneys 40+. They are a little bit of work setting them up but they are so much fun. We just use 6ft tables cover them with vinyl and away we go. We all own chips and we count them out and set them up before the check-in. Also put name tags on everyone, nice to know everyones name and it seems to calm people down when they have their name on them. If you have any questions just ask..... Have a fabulous day!!!
