Has anyone played the Ferguson Freeroll?

It's where the top 100 finishers win $1 TD and then can trade that TD for entry in The Ferguson. Oh yeah and it's way obviously at Full Tilt Poker.

I'm just curious about what level of play to expect.

One more thing. Any thoughts on the Razz freeroll at Full Tilt Poker? It's my arch nemesis of freerolls. And yes I do know how to play razz. I'm just baffled by the folks who complete with visible paint at a full table and so on and so forth.

Full Tilt PokerFull Tilt Poker is the poker site the pro's play at. US players are welcome - use Full Tilt Poker referral code CARDSCHAT for a $600 bonus.

UltimateBetUltimate Bet are one of the older poker sites on the internet with a great range of games to play and a 111% poker bonus with the bonus code CARDSCHAT.

it's the standard freeroll crowd. when you take 2700 people and get them to to register in 3 minutes, you're playing with quality. as for razz, it's just fun, but starting between A and 5 in the pocket, gives some hope.

The Ferguson is pretty fun, definitely play one, the satellite.
The actual game has sweet payouts. Just like the $1 tourney.....but a better name

I won two nights ago...

Yes, this is by far the best freeroll... it's a super turbo, which means... it goes by really fast... by the 1st hour, your close the the money...

I won this tourney about two nights ago... it was really fun to play in... and I would recommend it to all of the newbies out there trying to jump start their bankrolls...

this freeroll, is the fastest and easiest way to make money... between all of the other freerolls that Full Tilt offers...

Yeah, I agree. I got into one of these about a week ago just for the fun of it. I finished about 40 places out of the money, but it only took around 75 minutes to get to that point, so it didn't waste too much of time.

Ferguson freeroll time...

the Ferguson Freeroll... starts at 23:10 Full Tilt time... but the registration for it begins at 23:00 on the dot... make sure you sign up then, or you'll miss out... since it fills up pretty quick

best of luck at the tables

Expect the same crowd as normally plys in the FT freerolls. At least the payout if top 100 and not top 27 like usual. I came in 10th in a nlh freeroll today. My aces got cracked by pocket kings. Boy was i pissed.

I always keep missing this freeroll. I try to play most of them, but this one is really cool like others have said since the top 100 get paid and it goes by very quickly.

ANother one I like is the early double satellite. Its also a turbo and goes by so fast.........

I don't see this tourny listed on FT. It registers at 23:00? And someone said there were satellites for this tourney? A satellite for a freeroll? I'm confused. could someone offer some more info on this please?

Sorry but "Just a bunch of donks" wasn't what I was looking to read. I've been called a donk for raising with pocket jacks and higher, so I don't know what you consider a "donk".

Anyway, thanks to those who gave actual info, and detailed opinions. I'm going to try and play in it a few times this week.

There might be satellites for The Ferguson. I haven't looked for them, but I've played in some satellites at Ultimatebet for twenty cents, so it's very possible.

The only satellite for the Ferguson is the Ferguson freeroll in which the top 100 players get $1 for their trouble.

eh...

I have played in a few of these. The level of play is a step above freerolls. I mean, it's only a dollar. They're fun, but I've never placed in one.

I've played it a couple of times and always donked out early as I usually do with any tourney. It's hard to get in, have to be fast.

Anyone able to point me to the right place for this freeroll.

Is it on the normal section or somewhere special ?

in that ferguson freeroll, you can expect the same cast of characters as seen in most freerolls. Maybe its 1 level higher of play than your normal freeroll actually. Razz, eeeww, too many lucky people to play that freeroll.

Ferguson Freeroll

I did not know there was a "Ferguson Freeroll". Please advise where on Full Tilt Poker i can find it. Now the 2700 person razz freeroll is fun to play. I have make the money a couple of times. Just play top quality hands until the crowd thins (about 2 hours or about 200 people) and then step it up. You will be fine. It gets tough when it gets to about 75 people. I have also played the $1 Ferguson Tourney a couple of times. I agree with some of the other comments it is a "$1" tourney. Always some idiots.

I try to take a step back and look at supposed idiots objectively. Some are actually treading the fine line between genius and insanity. Gotta love it.

I'm waiting for the PLO freeroll to start right now. Providing I get a good table without much pot-pumping for the majority of the tournament I should do okay. I really need to figure out a way around bad pot limit players. I figured out how to beat several kinds of NL Hold 'Em players, and I can do fine in a play money PLO or Limit Omaha table, even in cash money, but for that you need a nice deep stack, and I learned that the hard way...

If I can stay alert The Ferguson looks like a great deal, both as a freeroll and as a one dollar tournament.

I just discovered that the play money setting has more freerolls available than the real money setting on full tilt thanks to this thread. They're all for tourny credits, but who cares?

Its the same crowd that plays the $100 freeroll, Maybe with some people that don't have real money accounts, since you can play that tournament from .net. Its really cool that 100 people get paid instead of 27, even if it is just a buck. Still way under the normal 10% that shoud get paid, but who is complaining, its a FREEROLL!

Are .net players better, worse, or the same as .com players? Just asking because when I finally got knocked out last night, it was to someone calling, not betting or raising but calling me when they were behind just to get their miracle cards. Seriously, they were paint+anything and other equally odd hands while not even short stacked but not big stack either, very odd stuff.

I have won the $1T twice and I thought it was rather easy and the best of all - fast. Easy - because in the 1st half hour at least a half of people fall out going all-in every hand, and fast because it took just over an hour to make it to the money.
After the wins, I did not join Ferguson however. I chose to exchange the $1T for real $ and just add on other freeroll money wins to actually join $1+0.25 Sit&Go. I see it as better ods on flipping the first $1, then playing over a thousand people on Ferguson.
Worked for me...

You're right. It is better odds. It's kinda comparable to a cash game having better odds than any kind of tournament. The more players, the more people you have to beat. That puts an instant dent in your odds right there, and it's a huge one. So a big multi-table tournament's more a lottery than an SNG. I like splitting the difference. I like twenty seat SNG's. They're fun because you get to switch to LAG a lot sooner, but have to exercise TAG.

Still, you can't beat an MTT for the payouts, it's just that it's such a lot of work to get to paid. They're real tests of endurance. Mentally, physically, and emotionally. That's just online. I imagine live ones to be even more draining.

Thought about it and you can't really compare cash to tournament. It's just that your odds of winning money and keeping it are better. In a cash game you only need to win a very few hands to double up or better, and don't really have to beat anyone though that's a lot of fun. Oh but you only keep the money if you leave at the right time.
