Had Enough

I've had enough of internet Poker. For months I've tried to deposit money into sites and little help has come from either the sites themselves or others.

So little use for internet now, I shall be retiring from both Poker and cardschat for the summer. And maybe next year when I return the internet will be a little more "user-friendly" to us New Zealanders.

Absolute PokerAbsolute Poker offers online poker games to US players with a $500 sign up bonus.

PokerStarsPokerStars is amongst the best poker sites online that accepts US players. Use PokerStars marketing code CARDSCHAT for an exclusive $75 bonus.

Why the problem, can you not use credit cards?

Not even neteller for example? If you're of legal age I'd be willing to give you a little bit of money to start you off providing you register via one of our links.

I think he mentioned in another post that he doesn't have a credit card, and no New Zealand banks are connected to NETeller so he doesn't have a way to deposit.

Surely there is another way of doing this. BOTY, do you have a debit card, like a Switch or something? I dont see why the sites dont wanna help, perhaps you could e-mail there complaints team or something.

If not, maybe you could borrow a credit card off a friend or a relative. I am sure you have thought of all these options already but dont give up m8

And stick around here. The longer you are away the more rusty your game will get........

Another idea......post some questions on a New Zealand card forum or something, I am sure you are not the only person that has had these problems

I seem to remember BoTY that there's a certain young lady who owes you a few bob!

Do you have bookmakers in NZ that may have associate Poker sites? I remember Bigjace saying you can deposit to UK sites by giving cash and poker account details to cashier. Other than that, if you haven't got a credit card you'll have to get one, and if you can't get one, then you're stuffed. Keep in touch with site though for forum events.

You can deposit through bookmakers. I have done this several times when I was in and wanted a quick deposit. They do it there and then and the money automatically goes into your account. bet 365 and Ladbrokes have very good banking systems which allow you to transfer money between their betting portals and poker sites

depositing/transfering money to neteller is like a bank transfer from one bank to another - i cant believe new zealandish banks cannot do this !

visit neteller homepage and talk to a live chat operator , im really pretty sure theres a possibility to open an account and deposit money

Only one bookmaker in New Zealand (www.tab.co.nz) and they have nothing to do with Poker and "Debit cards" are not yet available in New Zealand., I've enquired at all the banks that NZ has to offer

Support teams have been shocking to me. I'm 19, which is legal age to gamble in New Zealand. So am I "officially" legal to play online poker?

I believe the "international" age is 18, but that it may vary in different countries and/or states. If it's legal in New Zealand, it should be legal to whatever poker site you're connecting to.

I suppose you may have tried this already, but have a look at this:

http://www.mastercard.com/nz/findaca...st_a_card.html

I don't know if you have to qualify somehow to get any of those, though.

Good luck!

One last thought mate. You can get a "credit card" through companies whereby you dont actually get credit. You pay money onto the credit card and then its available to spend on the card. So its like a debit card but technically its a Mastercard/Visa. They do charge for it buts its only minimal and its better than your current options!!

I cant remember the servce but do a search for "pre-paid credit cards" and you should find something

Good luck

pokerstars accepts wire transfers through Western Union ($50 min+fees) and i think they have them in New Zealand, so that might be worth a shot. good luck

just checked at Absolute accepts them too, so there are probably others as well

I did Western Union once to a brother in Australia, A 50 dollar transfer costs 100 dollars after fees. Because with Western Union the more you send the cheaper it is. So when you send the minimum transfer you get bashed up by the fees.

Well it appears Gambling of any kind is illegal in New Zealand unless it has some community benefit. So your age is not the issue mate. NOW if you have a bank account you SHOULD be able to setup a Neteller account, afterall Neteller is a bank in the UK! Anyways have you actually tried to setup a Neteller account yet? If you have what specific problem was there?

that's rough. never used them myself, so i didn't know how bad the fees were. btw, New Zealand is a lot different then America. They love giving credit cards to college students here. i got one without even applying, and i'm still paying off my student loans

I do have a neteller account, and I can fund it through bank wire. But once again the fees or a $50 deposit (Which is the max I'm able to deposit at this time) are up to 50 dollars.

Listen this is just getting stupid, a brother just wanted to deposit the minimum into a poker site and have some fun. It seems you guys look at it like I simply through every option straight away like I'm some beggin fools... And it prolly appears that way, but nevertheless I'm looking into certain options and thank you for all your help team.

LOL.... No we are not treating you like an idiot. Moving money around to online gaming sites isn't the easiet thing in the world to start doing, simply because of the laws in most countries. So when somebody asks about the whole process it is IMPORTANT, for people who have experience with moving money around, to try and help new players. I am actually proud of our posters for trying to help. Next time lose the dam attitude and be grateful people tried to help!

I am grateful, rob and bill put me onto those online credit cards which I am currently in contact with. It's probably just the way I read a reply but it felt like they thought I was just being lazy rather than legit. Which I'm not, I've been trying to do this for a long time now. The help here may have just put me on track. Nick has even stated he is willing to throw me a starting lifeline what would be amazing, him offering that supportive this forum is.

See now I sound like a bloody inconsiderate idiot and everyone is gonna be against me!

Dont worry BOTY, everyone is just trying to help ya m8, thats what the forum is for after all.

Its a shame you cant deposit more at this stage, as this would solve the whole "neteller charge isnt worth it" problem

I am sure you will find the right solution. When you do, let us all know!!
